I have just bought my new Canoness, and it's come with 2 guns, a Bolt Pistol and another one, I have no idea what it is and am asking you lot to help me.

I can't get a picture on so I'll describe it as best as possible.

It is about a centimetre long, with a small handle, the barrel is exactly the same as the one on a Melta-Gun, but it is a pistol.

Any ideas? Please help

It's an inferno pistol.

That's what I thought at first, but the pictures in the codex say otherwise. RSVP

It's definately similar to an inferno pistol. I can't see what else it would be

Why don't you give me a picture of an Inferno Pistol and I'll tell you if it is or isn't, because as I said earlier I can't get a picture.

No, it is an Inferno Pistol. No question. The Canoness Mini comes with a Scroll, a Book, an Evicerator, a Blessed Weapon, a Bolt Pistol and an Inferno Pistol. If you can identify everything in that list except the Inferno Pistol, and you have one pistol-like object remaining with a vague similarity to a Meltagun, you have an Inferno Pistol. The picture in the Codex is not the be-all-to-end-all. Most Inferno Pistols look nothing like it.

A definitely less fancy Inferno Pistol than those Inquisitors carry, but that's certainly what it is, yes.

Though the model comes with a chainsword, not an eviscerator... not fancy or big enough. Compare it to those the Repentia carry and to a chainsword carried by say, Space Marine Bob, and you'll see what I mean.

If you look at the end of the gun, it looks like a meltagun, and an inferno pistol is basically a melta pistol. It's certainly not plasma, anyway.

Kill the Heretic! Burn the Witch! Purge the Unclean! Exterminate the Mutant! Eviscerate the Traitor! Pwn the Noobs!

The Repentia have `Ceremonial Evicerators', hence why theirs are larger and more ornate-looking. Compare with ceremonial blades in real life and you will see that is the usual trend (nobility on parade need larger and more ornate swords to compensate... except for The Black Adder, as he just wears The Black Russian). Compare the Canoness' weapon with any Chainsword and you will see that it is significantly larger and has a longer grip (for two hands). Clearly an Evicerator.

OK, that's great, thanks guys, about the Eviscerators, you can make them a Blessed Weapon, so a Canoness has 4(5?)atks on the charge, with re-rolls to hit, str3+2 (blessed weapon)x2 (Eviscerator)= STR10!!!! Awesome.

Actually, I thought about making a blessed eviscerator but BLesed Weapon is not an upgrade. It's a power weapon with better stats.
So you could either make a master crafted eviscerator, or a blessed weapon that just looks like one.
It's what I did, replacing the Canoness' weapon by an actual Repentia eviscerator, that way I can pick one or the other.

Elric, I have to disagree with one little point: I would think the Repentia's swords being ceremonial has nothing to do with size, only with fancyness. Not that it matters much.
I didn't notice the Canoness' chainsword was larger though... Either way it looks better with a Repentia's.

Wait, she comes with options?

And I went and bought inquisitors instead because they had the wargear I want. Bah!

Also, Blessed eviscerator would only be Str8
Str (3 * 2) +2

Always double first, then add. (this being why you cant furious charge for Str 8 with repentia)

I collect:
Guard - 2k of mostly infantry
DA - 2k of deathwing, 2k of other bits (no vehicles)
Sisters - mostly converted/proxy because I'm waiting for therange to go plastic.
Tau - 2k with no riptides because I can.
