A loota is only 15 points and they automaticaly come with def guns. I wouldnt really have much of a problem them if they were limited to a max of 5 def guns and could fill the rest of the 15 man sqaud out with shootas. GW seemed to think it was okay to give the squad 15 def guns for only 225 points - s7 ap4 die 3 shots 48 inch range. Forget the BS2 factor because they've got this squad firing so many shots that even 1/3 hits is going to be enough to level just about anything execpt a land raider. Forget the fact that they are just shoota boyz and are easy to kill...They shoot 48 inches.
They will also likely be in cover.

Now most armies could handle one loota squad but why wouldnt you take 3 at 675 for 45 heavy weapons. I mean come on - 675 for 45 Auto Cannons? Does this not seem wrong to anyone but me?
Everything about the unit is wrong - it should be heavy support - it should be a 10 man max sqaud with no more than 5 heavy weapons just like every other army - its an ork unit that outshoots Eldar Marine and IG units of the same class - for less points I might add.

I hate to complain but its just not a fair unit. It needs serious revision.

They can't penetrate AV14, they evaporate when subjected to Heavy Flamers, they can't move and shoot, and die just as easily as boyz to indirect artillery fire.

Considering the BS2 of the unit and the near utter lack of anything ranged beyond 36" in the army I think they fit perfectly.

What's not fair is Terminators with Storm Shields. A 3+ invulnerable save for FREE? Who wouldn't take that?

Only unlike boyz, there's no nob in there to lead with a bosspole, so one pieplate will cause the lootas to run away unless there's a big mek sitting in the squad.

QFT, even if one were to max out lootaz on the FOC,a few well placed pie plates and it's good bye lootaz.

Lootas are powerful, but not so powerful as to justify taking 45 at anything short of 2500 points. There are just too many other good options in the ork codex, like boyz, nobs, meganobs, burnas, kommandos, deffkoptas, battlewagons, big guns, etc.

Long and short of it: Orks have a good codex. Quitcherbitchin.

You guys just dont get it. Are you all IG players or something? Better yet, Ork players? Yes, they die just like boys. 15 Heavy Weapons 1 Sqaud at 225 - Thats my beef. Orks shouldn't have that kind of RANGED firepower - all there units have 2 Attacks or more and are cheap and fearless they dont need to be pumping out 90 shots at str 7 range 48" range on Avg a turn.

You have a problem with Termies? First of all...To have a 3+INV save you cant shoot because you have no guns.
They cant Sweeping Advance. You cant get +1 Attack bonus and lets not forget they cost 40 points, they should be better at that price. In order to run them Properly you need a LR or Libi which is expensive. My feeling is All terms should have a 3+Inv and cost 50 points and a storm sheild should ignore 1 wound per assault phase in Close Combat only.

So..you have an opinion, and don't like Looters, and don't think orks should have that kind of firepower. Opinion noted. Now sit back and let other people voice there opinions and laugh at yours. You aren't going to convince anyone that your opinion is more valid, just because it's your opinion.

Get your butt handed to you by orks and venting some bitterness? Just take more flamers and it will sort itself out.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

lootas aren't that bad. your probably a marines player... as they hurt marines the most by blowing up rhinos / dreadnoughts reliably. my answer to them is the dakka predator. force them to make ~ 5 saves, even if they are in cover they will need to take a moral check after 2 rounds of shooting, which they will probably fail.

if the enemy has more than 1 squad of 15, he probably is lacking in other areas, so you can exploit that.

and yes, terminators aren't overpowered, even when they pack stormshields, I think they are acurately priced for what they do... heavy assault against things like nobs / monstrous creatures. they die like rabbits in blenders against mobs of boyz though.

Edit: Bessides, they are Lootas, these aren't your standard Goff boyz wanting to get in there with the choppa and the slugga, these boyz spent years pilfering things from anyone who wasn't looking, and used the loot to bulid these awesome guns, of course they are going to use them.

Edit2: And compare the loota to the point for point cost of shootaboyz with some rokkits, even tankbustas are the same price as the lootas, and they get a bosspole, AND a stronger gun, even with a shorter range (and that annoying special rule).

And if the lootas were heavy support...then orks would have too many heavy support options, unless you want to move Flash Gitz to elites. (And considering how many of the elites really need spare transports from the heavy support section to work, then it would be the same as the old codex, "Oh, lootas can shoot farther now big deal, they take up a battlewagon slot!"~would be what you would hear.
