Hello, my name is Deadshane and I've decided to help anyone out that is worrysome about their "travel plans" once the dead begin to rise.

I offer these hints absolutly free of charge due to the fact that; more people alive=less zombies. Less zombies=better chance for survival.

What I propose with this tactica is that you post your plans, shelter, weapons, or any subject concerning your plans for surviving the imminant zombie apocalypse. I will attempt to reveiw as many plans as I can and tell you how you can adjust your plans in order to give you more of a fighting chance once society has fallen apart.

Also, please, due to the seriousness of this subject lets all attempt to maintain the intent of this thread and not go off subject. Many many lives may indeed depend on what we discuss here and you never know, the life you save may be your own.

Well, I know of several well stocked and fortified ranches and "cabins" that several of my friends/their parents own and operate in the great state of Texas. Frazzled, seeing as how you are already a Texas and already have an overlord with an endless hoard willing to do her bidding, I am sure you would be most welcome. One ranch I am thinking of in particular is owned by a friend who has been preparing for an invasion by the People's Republic of China. Considering the hoard techniques that would be employed by the Chinese military and how they would be similar to a zombie attack I vote that he is most likely the best prepared. Everything from assault rifles, shotguns, pistols, bows and arrows to shovels, crowbars, cannons and axes. Oh and of course thousands upon thousands of rounds to back this up, plus a few nasty homemade surprises, such as claymore mines, that will definitely be useful. I have already warned him of the coming apocalypse and he has "volunteered" his services. Of course all are welcome, but only after swearing allegiance to Texas and endeavoring to rebuild it as a paradise among the hoards of zombies across the planet.

I plan on becoming the grand overlord of the Zombies and directing them to bathe in the glorious radiance of any nuclear reactors that we can get access to, so that we will be so strong and tough that no mere firearms will harm us. I will also direct the zombies to meld their bodies to heavy farm and mining machinery so that they will form mighty machineries of destruction which will tear the roofs off of your cabins. But don't worry, we'll scare those damned Chinese bastards away.

1: Head to Bunnings (hardware store, MASSIVE building).

2: Arm/Equip ourselves, fortify Bunnings.

3: Raid into the markets and the mall, getting supplies that will last us untill we can grow our own food.

Survival!

Go to country store. Get scythe. Go to costume store. get robe. Walk out of store.

Live the Zombiepocalypse dream.

Buy the zombie survival manual, it was invaluable in instructing me on weapons of choice, transport options, fortifications..

Really is a must-have.

Load up family in SUV, drive west to wife's family on farms.

Sustain selves until all zombies killed or decomposed.

OR:

Put on gimp suit and swimming goggles to protect self from splatter (Note to self, need to get gimp suit)

Sharpen my spade.....

The ex. That is my survival tool. No zombie will want to come within 20 yards of her.

The zombie survival guide (as mentioned before) is amazing! what i want to know is what type of zombies are we dealing with? Zombie Survival Guide/World War Z zombies? Magically spawned zombies? Radiation based zombies? If we're dealing with WWZ zombies, then no fortification is safe. zombies dont need to sleep; they dont need to eat; they dont need anything. no door or wall is safe from 24/7 pounding on from zombies. IIRC machetes and crowbars are some of the best zombie fighting tools, they can both kill z's and also are great tools for survival (chop or pry open barricaded doors etc...)

I plan to survive through obliviousness.

Zombies (In reality) will be just as strong as they were when they were human.

My plan:

I believe the undead invasion will happen after 2012, are tech isnt good enough yet.

So by 2013+ Il be over 18, that means buying a gun.

Nothing to heavy, probaly a handgun, enough to cripple the zombies, stop them walking, charging towards me.

My school would be a good place to go, alot of weapons, its big and we could lock all the gates to stop zombies.

Ive been thinking about making a thread for a while about where all the members of Dakka should meet up once the zombies are here.

Im serious, strengh in numbers.

I'm not sure gathering the least physically fit members of society (myself excluded) in one place is a great idea. I mean yeah, I guess the groups lack of social graces wouldn't matter that much in a zombie apocalypse, but the sheer girth would cause problems. Also the lack of running ability.

Step One: Grab a crowbar/axe.
Step Two: Get in my van, and run those fethers over as i drive my way to the nearest gun shop.
Step Three: Use crow bar/axe to get inside shop if owner is not there or won't let me in.

Step Five: Survival!

My dream home is actually a zombieproof enclosure.

The idea is to live rather like the folks on Swiss Family Robinson.

Step1: Move to semitropical region.
Step2: Acquire an orchard with large, well-developed trees and a watercourse running through it.
Step3: Build home in one of said trees, and a walkway system to allow me to harvest fruit.
Step4: Cart enough dirt to a treetop location to have a sizeable garden. Harvest should include Avocadoes.
Step5: Buy chickens and make them a chicken coop up in the trees with me.
Step6: Stockpile water from the stream for times when the rain collectors aren't cutting it.
Step7: Watch zombies shamble around on the ground. Laugh when my feces fall on them from my tree-outhouse.

You're welcome to come, provided you are able to climb around in trees with little difficulty. I.E. if you don't like taking the stairs - this place ain't for you.

Now, as I'm only 20 and just getting started, I might not be ready come 2012. In which case I'd nip across the street to Safeway, grab all the non-perishable foods I can find, and then come home and demolish the stairs.


Now, these plans rely heavily on non-romero zombies (I.E. slow, strong, and unable to climb)

I'm looking forward to the coming zombie apoc,the "herd" needs a little thinning out.
As far as my plans to survive,well I have a few firearms,plus a fairly large cache of ammo as well as several cases of MREs & water.
My brother,whom I've actualy had this discusion with,and who is an RN, is supposed to "alert" me in the case of any "suspicious" medical emergencys,at wich point we are all to make our way to his girlfriends fathers home,a lovely well supplied and armed ranch on 20 acres of rural land.hardly a nieghbor in sight.
From that point on we hold up & play things by ear.

I was leafing through Cabella's today, and saw an interesting bit. You can buy, for 356 USD, a conversion kit that will take (2) .22's and make a crank-driven gatling gun out of them. Admittedly, the 22 is a small round, but it has a really hi velocity and a real flat trajectory. Great for head shots on whole mobs if you sweep it to keep the impacts between 5-6 feet off the ground. 2 banana clips feeding it 90 rounds apiece, fires 4 times per crank and as fast as you can crank it.

That cheap, you could buy an array of them. Also, it would probably be possible to port it up-caliber if you have the barrels.

Now after we stay in my school for a few weeks (With family, friends and guns). Hopefully alot of zombies would have died through lack of food.

If Im backpacking in 2012 or Im living in swansea with a mate (Thats my plan after I leave school) then Il find a big building with food or drive back to my mums house get everyone and go to my old school.

After about two, three weeks of hiding we make are way to the nearest army base and try and find a safe place.

Weapons and Hideouts are not enough, we are going to need food, water and indoor pluming of some kind for long enough to survive the undead invasion.

All I need is a automatic shot gun and a flask full of long island Iced tea.

I say planning ahead of time is one of the best tools. Most people have flashlights or candles in their houses incase the power goes out. So naturally I have some guns and food supplies to last me a little while. Once things calm down a bit, Ill venture out and get more supplies and such. Get a general feel for the zombies.
The sucky part is, think about how many friggin ZOMBIES there is going to be out side. I need to make myself a zombie truck

I'm currently trying to design some kind of gun that shoots rounds filled with holy water. I'll sell you guys some at my "friend price" when I'm finished. Also Immolators and AA12 shotguns will be useful. As for finding food, I plan to hunt what i can and live of spam and ramen (no different than now lol). The shelter I plan on taking is simple: My FLGS, just about every dude in there knows turn undead......


They should totally add AA12s in 40k.
