I was trying to design some Rubric Terminators.

Very simply:
Take your normal 30 Point Chaos Terminator, equipped with 2+/5++, CombiBolter and Power Weapon.
Up save to 2+/ 3++ Save; Add Fearless, Slow & Purposeful, The Sorceror Commands, Inferno Bolts and disallow any further options (including Champions).

My own calculations give a price somewhere around 46 points, which is simply double that of a Thousand Son.
But some things are a little strong like a 3++ save, but S&P is weaker on Terminators, etc.

Church: So it is a sword, It just happens to function like a key in very specific situations.
Caboose: Or it's a key all the time, and when you stick it in people, it unlocks their death.

That's also in line roughly with calculating the price of termi armor getting added to a lord or sorc. If you meant to say TL Bolter I'd say 44 or 45 points, whereas if you meant combi-bolter, 47 or a tad higher.

I'd recommend adding some fudge factor to your first play testing...maybe 50 each as a starting point?

Also how much would the sorcerer cost?

On a personal opinion note, the 3++ strikes me as overly strong even with S&P since they don't lose a weapon slot for it like any of the Storm Shield wielders. I'd probably try them with a 4++ first.

but the other upgrades tend to balance it. S&P is a pain especially if you lose the sorceror, and no weapon upgrades. It seems ok to me, going with the Tzeentch invuln trend. Seems natural that termie armor would have a better invuln than power. But just my opinion. 46-50 points seems like a good cost for this.

Thanks for all yere comments.

@ Cannerus
Well a Combi-Bolter is a TL Bolter. These guys could lose the option to upgrade it to a Combi-Flamer,-Plasma,-Melta.

@Jackmojo
I haven't figured out how much the Sorceror would cost. IMO the Sorcerer in the Thousand Sons unit is overcosted, especially since you still have to pay for your powers. (If I were fixing that unit I would keep the Sorceror Cost the same and make all his powers free)

I wanted to stay away from a simple 4++ Save as that is the same as Terminators with an Icon of Tzeentch, where the Thousand Sons seem to have the MoT twice, if you do that to the Termies they get a 3++. And while yes they don't lose a weapon slot, they can't upgrade any of their slots either so are stuck with a TL BOlter and Power Weapon.

@Christmas
They would have a Sorcerer, I just haven't figured that part out yet. I think I shall playtest them at 46 points to begin with and see how it goes from there.

They would have Inferno Bolts, there is no reason that a TwinLinked Bolter wouldn't get them.

They would actually make them much better than Storm Bolters and remove the need for H. Weapons.

So Orkylooter, how many points were you thinking of costing them?
