Vespids are listed as Jump Infantry in the Tau codex, but there is no note saying they can Deep Strike, like the battlesuits. The rulebook states all Jump Infantry can Deep Strike.

Just looking for clarification. For the record, I ended up with a lot of Vespids from a hobby store that was closing near me. I haven't found them to be too useful, but I suppose if I can Deep Strike them, that might open some options.

Last edition, Deep Strike was limited to those units who actually had the Deep Strike rule (causing much wailing and gnashing of teeth from Ork and Sisters players... )

This edition, the Deep Strike rule is built into the rules for Jump Infantry. So whether or not it's listed in their codex, Jump Infantry are all able to Deep Strike.

The other model from your codex that can now deepstrike, but couldn't in the last edition, is Shadowsun. Vespids aren't much better even with deepstrike though.

All jump infantry can deep strike unless otherwise stated so yes you can, BGB covers it.
