Ok, decided to play planetstrike this weekend then realised that I didn't have any bastions per say.
Instead of making do with Mighty Fortess towers or, even worse, bookstacks I decided to knock these up.
I'm going to give them a quick wash and add some weapons that I will be collecting off the Eldar player that
my Nids are going to eat!
I reckon it works well enough, it took an hour to buy the bits, 1.5 mins to drink the panda pops and about an
hour to assemble and spray white.
The whole lot cost under £20. Let me know what you think and keep an eye on this thread over the weekend to see
painted pics and maybe an exclusive in game shot or two!
Cheers!

There is a thread about the tyranid terrain here. I've not made much progress on it since the last post. I've been too busy
painting Canifexes for the game this weekend. Did you know that you can fit 9 into a 3000pt planetstrike game?

Dude thats class! 4 of them is even better! Cant wait to see them painted.

Whats that other scenery uve got? Looks really good.

What size of table do you use? Would need to be very big for all that scenery especially in apocalypse.

I love apocalypse games on huge tables with loads and loads of scenery! Just makes it all more interesting.

Full on, Full on!

Great stuff, and even better they serve as marital aids when not on the gaming table!

I love the towers, those look great! My only problem with them is they need more Eldar-y bits, like stones, etc, but I'm sure they'll look great with some paint.
The barricades, though, just dont do it for me. They just look like a piece of card with some drywall anchors? glued on them. A little more detail on everything, and these'll look stunning! What color is your eldar?

Thanks again everyone. The vote seems to be telling me what I want to hear!
Answers to a few questions, incoming.........................
Newt-Of-Death wrote:1)Whats that other scenery uve got? Looks really good.

1)I kinda answered that two posts above yours, 'Look to the skies Brother!'
2)Going to be on 6(and a bit)X4. Not sure we'll use all of the scenery but I always build lots of scenery in one go. It seems so much more
efficient to only have to get tools out, wash, paint, cleanup everything once. It also helps colours stay consistent etc

Points taken. This is just a quick fix. I don't plan to spend any more money of effort on these as I don't even have an Eldar army.
1)That said, I do have the weapons coming later today and I might get down to a local hobby place and see if I can get some gems or something.
Extra detail could be added with some freehand or stencilled runes, but we'll see how we go with that.
2)It's not card it's wood beading, but yeah they would need some serious work. I don't mind the shape of them though.
3)Not got one. I'll be playing an Ulthweish army though. Black, red and bone iirc.

Or whilst they are still on the gaming table! Just watch out(or not) for the Dark Eldar Warriors, they can be pretty spikey!
If you thought wargaming was embarrassing try explaining THAT in casualty................

I'm so happy I'm never the only one with a filthy mind on Dakka

Though to be fair, Kid_Kyoto put it far more delicately than I would have!

In all seriousness they look great. I second the point that you dont' see enough xenos terrain. In fact, I wish I could see a whole Eldar outpost painted up like the stuff from Dawn of War. That'd be neato.

Thanks again for all the praise. I've finished 'detailing' and given it a yellow ochre wash.
I don't think that i'll do any veining or battle damage as i'm running out of time but will still probably
stencil a rune or two.
Looks pretty good to me.
Sorry to dissapoint on the toppers Kyoto!
Stay tuned for action pics or maybe a link to a batrep!

P.S Appologies for the rather lacklustre Skyshield Landing Plate. It should make the game interesting though!

I would love to see some more color - it just needs some sort of contrast on the buildings at least. The weathering is better than plain white at least.

If you didn't want to paint stuff, maybe model some ivy growing up the sides? It'd be a great contrast to the white - or you could go crazy and do Fall colors.

Very elegant and nice looking though! Threads like this keep distracting me from finishing my army trying to derail me into terrain!

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

For 40K, I would love to see some color on them. But for sure they are terrain.
