Violent Space Marine Dedicated to Khorne

Hello, so my friend is considering buying a 4th edition space marine army off of craigslist,
but we are both unsure if the figures in 4th edition are different from 5th

Are 4th edition space marine figures different than 5th edition ones?

The current Space Marine models have been around since 3rd edition.

The sprues were recut in 4th edition to add in some extra bits and pieces, but the models themselves are still the same.

The rules have changed with the 5th edition codex, though. So if it's a 4th edition army, it may contain some units or options that are no longer legal or optimal.
