I don't get it. Is this your personal use codex?

You're giving expensive gear away for free. I wouldn't want to play against a daemon prince that cost the same as the chaos book, but had an extra AP3 template attack for free, that seems unbalanced.

Your dreadnought avoids the risk of shooting his own troops. Doom sirens on raptors (not even a choice in the old EC - why not obliterators with blastmasters while you're at it).

You randomly changed the stats on the blastmaster back to 3rd ed. That's confusing.

In general, it seems poorly thought out, and overpowered compared to current chaos stuff.

Well, don't be too harsh.
Its the first draft and meant as a playable codex that could in principle be integrated in a 5th ed CSM codex,
provided that this codex would contain legion-based subcodices.

I made some changes as suggested: doom sirens are no longer for free.
AC's and HQ's will have access to doom sirens.

Integrating Obliterator cult is an issue.
You're right, Slaaneshi based Obliterators should morph blast masters.

Blastmasters are overpriced at the moment.
They are rarely played in competitive situations.
So I decided to downgrade it a bit.

I don't know if you're joking - you did include the relevant smiley. But, if you do send it to Jarvis, they'll throw it out without reading it. It's just policy.

As for being harsh, sorry if it came across that way, but I've played Emperor's Children for years, and I wouldn't dream of asking my group to use that, it's overpowered and while I'd like to have daemonettes in with my noise marines, that's just not how things run these days. Home-brew codexes tend to reflect the whims of the creator rather than any solid game design principles, and aren't worth the paper they're printed on.

As for the blastmasters - that's exactly what I mean above. You say they're rarely used in competitive games - I think that's more because plague marines can't take them than because they're bad themselves. Noise marines aren't used in many "competitive" lists.

Blastmasters are just fine at their current point-cost and statline. Changing it in your homemade codex falls into the trap that GW is so-often guilty of, making the same thing behave differently based on which codex it is chosen from. That's poor game design.

Blastmasters allow min/max squads of noise marines - the cheapest way to get heavy weapons into a 5e marine list. Even at 40 points each, they'll do their damage, as you can lash things out of cover and into clumps. Perhaps this synergy is why the blastmaster deserves it's pricetag.

Looks like chaos units with mark of slannesh added and noise marine associated weapons. Doesn't seem to do anything else besides that or fix any issues.

Some cool stuff like making bikes counts as troops etc.

I think you can do better wuestenfux.

That's a shame, but you're certainly right.

Yeah, I thought about some cool stuff. But then the codex might get too far away from the current one.

I'll do my best. Thanks for considering.
