Hey guys I'm sure this as been asked a bunch of times, but I tried searching the forums and found no thread talking about my topic.

Well all I'm asking is how do GK's hold up against a Chaos daemons army? Is it the most one sided battle in table top? Since after all GK's are designed with the soul purpose of fighting daemons!

How do GK's do against the various types of armies like Khorne based armies, Nurgle based armies, Tzeentch based armies, or Slaanesh based ones?

The reason I ask is because hardly anyone plays GK's where I am, since they are the worst army in the game. Most people buy GK's paint them, then enter's them in painting tournaments since after all GKs are the best looking army GW has produced.

Thanks.

Pat that askala, O-H-I hate this stupid state

I know isnt that kinda funny makes you want the army. They actually work really well in team tournaments. My buddy and I took forth out of eight which isnt bad. In case you were wondering i was teamed with BT. Only one of my squads in each game didnt make their points back. As for by themselves probably not so much unless you are playing daemons. I havent had mine very long so dont take my word for it.

Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, its just a freight train coming your way!

GKs wreck daemons if they take Sanctuary and just keep it up all game. Otherwise, daemons roll them.

As funny as it sounds, Gk's being made to kill daemons really doesn't help them that much. Many of their abilities made to counter daemons are so out of date that they don't apply anymore. What they do have is useful, but not enough to make the match completely one-sided.

Your best bet as GK against Daemons is to make use of the versatility of the GKs against the specialization of the Daemons. Shoot their close range daemons, and melee their ranged ones. Psycannons go a long way too. But really though, a Grey Knight army should take on Daemons like any other army, focusing on their versatility to win. The main advantage they have is that they don't have to worry about going against armour.

Wow guess not that many people play Grey knights.

When Daemons first came out I was rocking a Grey Knight army at the time. The only/main guy who played the Daemons refused to fight me though, because he relied on Fateweaver, who would have been demolished by the few Psycannons I had. Now I'm pretty much the only guy who plays Daemons or Grey Knights at my FLGS, and neither army is really complete, so they've never gone against each other at all. Of course now I want to find someone to play one of them so I can play the other against it...

GKs do well if
1. You have a bunch of Landraiders. They can be very tough to crack.
2. make sure you discuss the GK special rules with the demon player. I don't know about others, but had no problem extending some of those special rules to additional demon units on a common sense basis.

Take lots of those psycannons. I freaking hate psycannon like a Texan is gunshy of vegetables.

Take that horrible inquisitor with the familiar that lets them fire on dropping/deepstriking units. That can be gnarly to demons.

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Take 2-3 Inquisitors with the Sanctuary psychic power and two Mystics. Then take minimal Grey Knight troop choices with Psycannons. Just stand around the Inquisitors and shoot from safety. When you need to take objectives move your Inquisitors up and re-cast Sanctuary. I believe you can push demons off objectives with it.
