That's right fellow dakka stalkers, I just finished kicking swine flu in the face. After days of being bed ridden, and dealing with a menagerie of problems that happened to tag along, I am up and about. i just thought this was worth sharing!

Nice!

I myself am avoiding swine flu by lounging around on the computer all day, and drinking preservative-filled cola.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

I had H1N1 a few weeks back. It was miserable and only made worse by having to keep up with classes online. Congrats on feeling better.

Bah! I've never had a flu shot, and I've only had the flu once, in 1978. However, my allergies and arthritis more than make up for it. It's sort of like living in a body that's well guarded against outsiders, but the soldiers go out on the weekends and kick the locals around for thrills.

I got my swine flu jab a few days ago because i'm a 'frontline health worker', everyone was whinging about how much it hurt after, but I thought it was fine - would recommend to anyone who gets offered it

I don't get sick that often. In my 20 years, I've only been sick enough to go to the doctor maybe 3 times. One of those times, however, it was serious and I ended up in the hospital for a couple of days.

I laugh at H1N1. [Not really. I don't wanna get sick so I take good care of myself.]

I just got over it myself. Took about 3 days of rest. Gonna get me a T-Shirt that says "I survived the Swine-flu Pandemic of 09".

Good to hear you're hale and hearty again. Welcome "home".

..A few people round my way have had it, but it hasn't *touches wood* really been much of an issue locally yet it seems.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all

My dad had it. I may have had it, but I didn't feel like making the co-pay to be sure. I felt weird for a couple days, which isn't consistent with most reports, but I tend to be in better shape than the average Amerigo.

I was in the same situation. If you notice the symptoms of being sick and act preemptively it isn't that bad.

Yeah, I had it - wasn't a big deal, really. The fever was harsh though. Hallucinations are only fun in a kind of 60's/Beatles kind of context. Not in a 'shivering under a sweat-soaked blanket' context.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Okay, so the male version of "Cougar" is now officially "Albatross".
