The idea would be to have the skink chief on foot move forward with the normal skinks, and hopefully cast Bear's Anger on him! This would give him strength 6 and 6 attacks . Even without it, I think he would do pretty well at warmachine hunting. I thought this would do better than the scar veteran with the jaguar charm, since cloak of feathers can't be dispelled

The main strategy would be to have a hard center moving forward with the two blocks and stegadons, to get the Slann in range of the enemy wizard and cause him to discard his 6's. The Terradons and possibly the skink chief go after war machines and the like. EoTG will give the cover save to everything, while getting ready to counter charge any enemy units along with the skink chief on stegadon with war spear (2D6 + 1 impact hits for the chief, D6 + 1 for the EoTG).

What do you think?

Looks like a solid, standard lizard list, with an interesting skink chief instead of the classic jag charm skarvet. I wouldn't crow too loud about using two skink chiefs though, as one is really a dinosaur with extra impacts, not some weedy little lizard git

Good luck out there.

EDIT: Actually one thing, maybe Sword of Might on the skink instead? If he's hunting war machines mostly, why the uber-armor breaking sword? I'd think wounding easier would be better than negating a save that machine crew don't have (S5 will knock out heavy armor, and I can't think of a crew with heavier than that). I guess you could be thinking BBoC for help against regen-ing things, but I'm not sure a lil' skink man is going to help out much against a hydra or something.

Hi,

Yes, that was the idea . Not trying to claim too much originality here!

But do you think he'd be more effective than the scar vet with jaguar charm? I also was wondering about what weapon to give him; I wanted to give him the best one possible, and this one seemed like it. Could he take on bigger stuff (or just help out another combat) with the current sword? This way he'd have a -3 to armor saves whether he gets bear's anger or not.

Anyway, thanks for the thoughts

Edit: I think I'll drop the weapon entirely (and just leave him with hand weapon and shield, for a 4+ save) and keep him cheap. I'll put the points from that and the saurus musician into another dispel scroll. I'll update with how this build does and if I decide to abandon him for the standard scar vet or not . I feel like it will be more reliable, since the flight move can't be dispelled... but we'll see!

It looks like a pretty strong list but why would you waste the slaan and his awseome ability to cast spells just to cast Bears anger on one Skink Cheif because the Priest can't do it and it's a RIP spell so you cant cast anything else as long as you want to use it.

That's a good point. What do you mean you can't cast anything else as long as you want to use a remains-in-play spell? I'm not sure I follow you on that.

I'll probably try him unbuffed (so I can take whatever lore I want) and see if he can take on some warmachine crew on his own. We'll see! If not, I can always swap him for a more standard scar vet

Remains in Play spells are broken when the caster attempts to cast another spell.

I actually think dropping the weapon on the skink is not the way to go. For just a handful of points you can make him a lot more useful at doing his job and don't have to rely on bear's anger going off / being kept up - which I think goes along with your desire to avoid the jagcharm, as it can be stopped. Same with the angry skink.

Hi Boss_Salvage,

Hmm, good point! I think I'll put the sword back on him... let me edit the original post to show that (with sword of might as you suggested, instead of the burning blade).

About the remains in play spells- really!!! That means in my test game, the guy who cast Wall of Fire on me, then kept casting spells... was totally out of line? That is really good to know
