This is my attempt at a competitive skaven army but one that still plays with the skaven units I like most in the new codex for fluff reasons. It is sadly 50-ish points over and I am stumped as to what should be dropped.

I'd also be looking at making a 2000 pt edition as it is a more common point value round these parts but I am having trouble dropping 50 much less 300.

Your Plague Priest with the dispel scolls needs to be a wizard in order to use them.

your just mad cause you cant have one

id break up A giant rat pack into singles for saving 50 points. say 4 rat packs as singles (5 rats 1 pack master = 23 points X 4 =92 points) that will give you a better deployment and more tactical flexability. the units are smaller and prone to LD tests but i usually run something like it for flank charges, march blocking, frenzy bait and the likes.

All Plague Priests are automatically lvl. 1 wizards. I don't know what your local meta is, but will 5 levels of wizard be able to cast that much? While my local scene is usually not this way, some places are "go big or go scroll caddy" with magic.

This. You already have a bunch of big blocks of troops- getting a few smaller giant rat packs will allow you to march block/bait-and-flee more effectively. In the Moulder list I'm working on I'm even tempted to use giant rats exclusively for this and not using slaves. However, the new slave rules are nice. Hmmm...

Well if your dying to drop points, I would drop Thweel, add warpstone spikes to your abomination (wraiths would not be fun) and maybe add in a couple of rat swarms. Those guys are great for warmachine hunting (and usually ignored for some odd reason).
