After I finish my small space wolves army (grimnar with 2 units wolfguard, droppod, and wolf scouts.) what should I do next???

I agree, you should continue to 2k-2.5k. You'll find games at your FLGS that you can't hit up because you have two small armies. In that 2k range you will have more opportunity to play local tourneys and maybe even jump on some Apoc.
