What do all you soul drinkers readers think? I just finished the last book (hellforged) today and was in awe... From my point of view there are at least two things that could easily be covered in additional soul drinkers books

Spoiler:
1. Tellos... when he died at the end of Crimson Tears it definitely sounded like he was going to become something more... ascension to daemon hood? Im not sure, but I think there would be plenty of love for some more tellos bloody killing... maybe not even another soul drinkers book... maybe a book based around what him and his fellow marines did after being left behind on stratix luminea...

2. Chaplain Iktinos.... whats the deal here? He clearly has intentions of his own at the begining and end of Chapter War and even further so (along with his flock) in Hellforged.... Now it doesnt really explain what his plan is or what they are trying to accomplish in this "salvation" (I think thats what they were calling it? Dont have my book right now). Id really like to know who theyre master was, what they were doing, and what is going to happen to them after the Imperial Fists send them a little visit.

3. The rest of the Soul Drinkers... The ending of Hellforged was a shocker to me... What did Luko do though? His fake attitude towards war clearly wants him to die fighting to Lysander and his marines... but the true side of him that hates war and wants piece would probably surrender and let it be over (on the other side he could fight and end it even quicker?) So whats going on there? Id like to see a book on what happens after Sarpedon gets face pwnt

On the other hand.. it was a great book series and it was really enjoyable to read... So maybe they should just leave it alone. For anyone that hasnt read the series I would definitely suggest you do as it is extremely epic imo.

I dunno man. At first I thought it was enjoyable as well. But I think it kinda went out of hand somewhere along the way.

The souldrinkers series was good, although I'd be keen to see it continue where Hellforged left off.

Maybe the imperial fists test their faith and take them in or they do a penience (s?) crusade to prove themselves, or upon hearing their story the Imperial Fists turn on the adepts for takign their soul spear and trying to shaft the chapter.

so many options, but I wouldn't want the books getting out of hand and boring. A good personal example being the Ultra marines books in which killingground was horrible, thankfully the next book was a bit better in my opinion.

I could care less.

The action is good, and the idea of a non-chaos renegade chapter is good.

But, my God!, Sarpedon has to be the dimmest leader ever.

He just seems to have absolutely no clue what the rest of the Chapter is doing.
It gets annoying.
I could buy it when Chaos was influencing his decisions. But not any more.
Especially in Chapter War.
That one put me off of the Soul Drinker story, as interesting as the "Black Chalice" subplot seems to be.

I like Ben Counter's other stories, but Sarpedon bugs me.

The souldrinkers series is one of the worst in black library. The non soul drinker characters are interesting but the soul drinkers themselves are pretty 2D and uninteresting. It was slightly interesting when they became chaos marines but then suddenly they aren't chaos marines? You can't come back from that.

I honestly liked the books... then again I think the only other 40k book I got through was 15 hours... and I didnt care for that book at all... Im sure as I read more books, if there are better ones (which I assume there will be) then I will be more disliking towards the SD series... however at the moment I like them quite a bit... Currently I am enjoying the first of the Sigmar Trilogy and its pretty good I must say!
