Flower Picking Eldar Youth
Brightside of Nowhere
|
Since I'm new to this site, I've decided to post here. Many of my friends have played Warhammer 40k for a while now, and now I've decided to see for myself. I took the army of "Eldar" but have not taken a good look at the codex so really all I know is their background.
Also, what are some of the pros and cons to Eldar? The main reason I chose that army was because we don't have a single other Eldar player, but I would like to know what about them should be exploited and what should be worked around.
Thanks!

Welcome to Dakka Dakka!
For Eldar each unit focuses on one or two roles only and should only be used for that as well usually. So when you play Eldar you have to make sure every unit works together in someway and you probably need to think a bit more than if you were playing Space Marines. But, nearly every race requires more thinking than Space Marines
Here is an article I usually post whenever anyone asks about starting Eldar, it helped me when I was starting Eldar as well.

Welcome to Dakka, mate!
Eldar are a fancy army to play with. You have to put the right unit in the right place at the right time. You are an elitist. You specilise in everything.
If you choose Tank-Hunters you will have the BEST tank-hunters.
If you choose close-combat you will have (some of) the BEST close-combat.
If you choose shooty you will have the BEST shooters.
The problem is you don't have many choices.
Are there many marine or chaos players at your club? If so get Dark Reapers. That WILL level the playing field with thier nasty anti-infantry weaponry.
