So, while the majority of questions in YMDC revolve around the standard 40K rules, from time to time we get queries on rules for Apocalypse games.

I think everyone understands by this point that Apocalypse games are meant to be a little less 'rigid' on the rules than regular 40K games, and the nature of the game allows much more scope for house rules.

That being said, if someone is on the forum asking a rules question it's fair to assume that they want an answer based on the actual rules. These rules are presented in the Apocalypse rulebook, and in the various Datasheet updates that have been released by Games Workshop.

While the Apocalypse book does say that players should feel free to introduce their own house rules, this is no different to the philosophy behind the regular 40K rulebook. The actual rules are as written in the book. Whether or not they can be changed through a house rule is not at all relevant to how the rules are written.

With that in mind, I would ask posters to refrain from posting in Apocalypse threads if they are not prepared to discuss the rules being asked about. Posts to the effect of 'It's Apocalypse, work it out for yourself' will be treated as spam and deleted, and the poster dealt with in the usual fashion.

I loev you too!!!!!

Actually, I think there needs to be an extra rule for Apoc Questions (hell, all questions), and that is to reference what book, or Datasheet and if possible page numbers.

Apoc rules do not get the same amount of usage as the main rules, so it can be a hassle to wade through the various books and datasheets that are unfamiliar.

It wasn't directed specifically at you. Others do it too.

I don't think there's any need to single out Apoc questions specifically regarding references. It would be better if everybody included references where possible. The problem with making it a rule is that it's not always possible... it really depends on the actual question being asked, and how familiar the person asking is with the rules they're asking about and where to find them.

Certainly though anyone answering rules questions should endeavour to provide references where applicable.
