Grey Knight Purgator firing around corners

Hey folks,
I've been building up a DH army recently, and so far I've got the Coteaz set, some PAGKs, and some Termies. The notion was to grab some Stormtroopers and expand using some Space Marines, however on close inspection of the DH codex (which I decided to purchase after I bought the models....) I'm not sure this is possible. Anyway, Its quite late, and I've had a couple drinks, so I could possibly be reading this very wrong, but I've had a few questions about DH and Space Marine allies, and not got very far with any answers. So...
Taking DH w/ SM allies:
Rules say you can't take SM with Grey Knights in your army, I'm assuming this means everything from the SM codex? Discussing this with a friend led him to believe that it was just troop choices, so you could take heavies/fast attack, I wasn't so sure, is my assumption correct?
Assuming this is true, you can then only take say a Inq+ret, an assassin, vehicles and anything more than the 0-2 allied troop choices would have to be Stormtroopers?
Say you take a Lord with 2 units of stormtroopers, can you also take SMs with a GK Land Raider? As the codex says its crewed by GKs but doesn't carry the special rule?
Taking SM w/ DH allies:
The above rule is completely ignored and you can take an entire SM army including PAGKs, GK Termies, Inq's as an Elite choice as an example. The question? Why in the name of the emperor can you have this work one way and not the other? Makes no sense to me.

Taking DH w/ SM allies:
Rules say you can't take SM with Grey Knights in your army, I'm assuming this means everything from the SM codex? It means everything from any of the SM Dex's.
Say you take a Lord with 2 units of stormtroopers, can you also take SMs with a GK Land Raider? As the codex says its crewed by GKs but doesn't carry the special rule?
Taking SM w/ DH allies:
Okay so your "parent army" can be space marines and then you can take the allotted amount of troops/elites from the GK or WH dex hope that helps.

You would need to include 2 Stormtrooper units as your compulsory Troops, as compulsory choices must come from the DH list. But otherwise, yes, that's correct.

In order to have a GKLR you need a GK Hero...

That's more or less correct. You're stuck with the DH limits on page 21 (Using Daemonhunters as Allies) though.

If you want Marines and Knights in the same army, you need to make the list a Marine army with allied Knights. All this means is that you need a minimun of 1 Marine HQ and 2 Marine Troops, and that you can take no more than 1 DH HQ, 1 DH Elite, 2 DH Troops, and 1 DH Fast selection. You will also only be able to take Marine Heavy selection. And that's it. Simple.

The same rules goes for witch hunters. However there is nothing stating that you can't take Sisters of Battle along with Grey Knights. It actually works out to be quite a nice combination. You can also induct Imperial Guard into the DH army but you must also take the 2 troops from DH aka PAGKs or Stormtroopers.
