Quick question here: can terminators teleport in and right away open up with their assault cannons? And can they move and fire assault cannons in the same turn? I'm wondering, because my codex lists assault cannons as heavy weapons, not assault weapons, but I have an issue of White Dwarf with a battle report in it that mentions terminators doing these things.

Kill the mutant, burn the heretic, purge the unclean!!!!

There are just three simple rules to follow: If I charge, follow me. If I retreat, kill me. If I die, avenge me.

"A Templar Knight is truly a fearless knight and secure on every side, for his soul is protected by the armor of faith, just as his body is protected by armor of steel. He is thus doubly armed and need fear neither daemons nor men."

EDIT to be more clear

Yes p102 Space Marine codex under terminator armor heading lists the relentless rule. This rule is explained in the main rule book p76 (unsure if the page number is the same in the big version of the rule book. Dakka?)

Yes, they may fire them. Terminators may always fire their weapons, even after deep striking. Relentless is fun.

OK, now let me ask any SM players out there what they would recommend as far as heavy weapons for a terminator squad: assault cannons, cyclone missile launcer, or heavy flamer? I was thinking of two assault cannons.

Oh if you are playing Black Templars codex then the Terminator description on page 29 explains all.

Also if playing the BT codex the assault cannon is a good choice IMO.

If I'm only using the odd squad of termies, not DW or Logan, then I always take asslt cannons. Cyclones are nice, but you should be shooting infantry up ready to assault, and HFlam can stop you assaulting unless you L/Raider deliver them.

Good luck

I would go with 2 assault cannons on a full squad. Heavy 4 with Rending, that's 8 rending capable shots, and and then 16 shots from Stormbolters from the other 8 members is nothing to take lightly. Makes them a great moveable fire platform; that do well in CC also.

Cheers!

Terminators are weapon platforms and can fire heavy weapons or rapidly firing rifles on the move.
Moreover, they can charge in the same phase, not when they deep strike.

Yea in all seriousness, just taking terminators are a good idea. They usually do well period. I seem to be countering them better with Orks, but Ive played against them with other armies and terminators just strait up kill things. (specially other MEQs)
They are one of the very few things I think are not only worth the $50 price tag, but the high points in games as well. More then likely they will earn their points back with little problems.

There, I fixed it for you.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
