So, while roaming around a store, I saw the bold letters "BATMAN ARKHAM ASYLUM" Demo inside. I grabbed a copy and found that some information on the Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising Expansion is also hidden inside. Please take note that this was last months issue as the raffle for free games ended Dec 4 (I won my Dawn of War II from a previous raffle). I just needed to know what they had and bought the magazine. Well, there are a few snippets of information on a two page spread. There are stills of a Chaos Marine, Dreadnaught and more photos of the Blood Angels. The Game Designers and Developers have a photo with some figures and write-ups on their preferred 40K Army and why they chose them. Apparently, they say that they play a game every two hours.

News to me is the expansion is not an expansion. It is a stand alone expansion where your are given a squad of blood angels (similar to the first) and may choose to turn to chaos. Also, if you have the original Dawn of War II, the squad you have there may be used in Chaos Rising. Level cap of 30 is confirmed. Bloodletters are in. Juggernauts are in. There is a Librarian type character with powerful spells (sorry I do not have the mag in front of me).

PS I did not want to necro the old post on Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising because the last post was September.

Blood Ravens, not Blood Angels, and all that info has been going around here since September. There was a developer's diary video that came out last month that had a lot of the extra detail as well. Your enthusiasm is appreciated though!

Sorry, I did a search-fu in this forum and the last post was September and it was more of a rumours thread. I guess for those who have not seen the developers diary...enjoy!

Good info, but does anyone know if there are new Eldar units in Chaos Rising? I know there are a crapload of new units, including a new HQ unit for Spehss Mehreens... But does this also mean that the other races get new HQs? I'm seriously raging for a new HQ for Eldar, hopefully an Autarch. I don't know why they put a Warlock in there instead of him. Doesn't make much sense.

Slaneesh may seem fun now, but when you find yourself in bed with a he-goat and several implements of pain, you'll know you've gone too far. -Emperor's Faithful

Okay, I have the Mag in front of me now. It is a 4 page feature. The game is still played with the Blood Raven Squad and you are presented with choices in completing the mission. A Chaos meter will tell you how much you have been corrupted. Chaos Daemons are confirmed. 15 missions. The HQ is Jonah the Librarian. No news on other races. Items mentioned:
Blade of the Unrelenting - 157 damage per second, +50 damage to chaos, +15 arour rating to nearby allies, grants limited invulnerability
Barding of Hate - Armour rating 77, +145 health, +4% Sight range, grant reactive strike and grants combat vigor
