I told myself I wouldn't do a metallic Space Marine army. Just doesn't seem like it pushes the envelope of painting as much as traditional. So, that rules out Iron Warriors and Alpha Legion.

I am a perfectionist, so I can't really just settle. I need to have love for my army. I am hoping to see them roll out a lot for the Black Shields maybe. Might be fun to do some sort of marauding warband.

Actually, that isn't too bad. And of course, I only say that because the pound has dropped so heavily. I mean, $415 is no small amount... but it is HUGE and detailed. I just hope it isn't a dud unit. I would hate to see it popped in a single round.

Yep and these escaped my radar and I have been in a tragic malaise thinking my beloved God-Eaters were being ignored! Not that case! These really should hit any day now, if the Makabius ones are an indicator. Literally this and some foam are all that stand between me an my 3000pt Questoris army. I didn't want to start it and have to wait on decals that may never show up, but this gives me a lot of hope! Time to start a few airbrush trials for the emerald armor.

The Throwback Freeblade is almost done. Just need to lacquer that base rim and do the mud effects on the base.

As for the pose, that is all GW. Can't say I am happy with the monopose clampack concept, especially given the price point. $30-ish for one guy in one pose? Why not make it like the SM Commander kit with a slew of options? Just seems like a "model company" would do more. /endrant

I didn't on the Chappy base because I wanted it done quickly and didn't want to wait for drying time. I do usually though, due to cost efficiency and working-time.

Scored a good buy for my Skullfiend Tribe, plus saw some dudes at my LGS slugging it out with two underdog armies. Orks and Chaos mixing it up. By far one of the more fun, fluffy games to watch that day!

I had contemplated doing a 30k Black Shields army and I loved the idea of camouflage, so seeing this on the FW Bulletin today really made my day!

I wonder what they are doing painting up a Rhino that way. That guy painting it is Andy, the Specialist Brands Product Manager. The tinfoil hat part of me wonders if this isn't intentional... it isn't, but GW/FW have given me trust issues!

On a positive note for me as a hobbyist, my AoS purchases are almost done. Just need to finish the (now languishing) Blood Angels. Yes, I am still working on them and yes I feel bad. I have just run out of steam as a commission painter and when those are done, barring any Titans or other feather-in-the-cap models, I am done taking money for painting.

My projects are years old and still untouched - that has to change!

I wouldn't do a 40k Camo Marine army. Just doesn't feel right to me. Still working on making Marines Malevolent, currently. But I am very much torn for the 30k option. Blackshields or World Eaters?! I can't decide.

In the end, I will probably do a 3000pt World Eater list and make a small couple of Blackshield warbands to accompany my House Vyronii Knights.... whenever FW decides to actually release my transfer sheets!

Also, Blood Angel update, sorta. Took a shot of them on a table at my FLGS. The Libby was fun to paint. Now just to crank out the last 40 models and then I have 10 Scouts and a Land Raider, plus Gerantius, to do for that client.

Then my stuff will be on the table for the first time in like 6+ years!

Had a look at the General's Handbook. Been crunching numbers ever since! I have a 2500pt Warhost "build list" for that now, which is basically my old build list, but with points. Looks like I wasn't too far off the mark. Waiting to see if Forge World assigns points so I can run my big bad dude too.

I am trying to find a base style I like for my Skullfiend Tribe and these.... are not quite there. Not digging the color, I think I need to go darker in the root color, dark brown. Going for the blasted earth look. More crackle, more lava paste and less cork and ballast, for sure. Going to add dark green tufts after the fact - but don't want to waste them on testers.

Anyhow, I am getting stuff built finally - I will post a pre-paint shot of the whole massive Warhost I have. And I have three new-in-the-tube W&N S7 brushes and my still-unused H&S Infinity airbrush ready for these! Can't wait.
