Hi there gang,

How would you all outfit a nob leading a shoota mob?

I'm not an Ork player but I'd probably just save the points and leave the Nob off. Take 3 Heavy Shootas and 30 bodies and just create alot of dakka.

Bad bad bad idea.

A Shoota Boy army is still supposed to move into assault so the Shoota Boyz are still a platform to get your Nob's Power Klaw into assault range. The idea is that you can fire off a lot of shots while you're moving forward into assault range rather than being cut down like Sluggaz with no ability to respond. (For foot sloggin' armies)

I tend to agree - no klaw makes the unit a relatively soft CC target, but a klaw gives that extra bit of threat and will also help keep enemy vehicles at a distance.

No matter where your Nob is (expect for Nob Squad), you should have Power Klaw, bosspole and if possible (at least with normal Ork Boyz) a shoota, because you can't get the extra attack with slugga & klaw, why not take the advange of getting a extra shot at extra range?
Correct me if I'm wrong

Can Nobs use a Shoota in one hand?

Do the Boyz Nobs follow the same wargear rules as the regular Nobs?

Rokkits for the mob and power klaw and combi-rokkit for the Nob.

There's only one right answer always have a nob and always have a Power Klaw and bosspole (only exception to the bosspole is if you using Thraka, but that's a bit advanced for a new Ork player) stick to the basics for now

Get a Codex

Hey jackass, I have a codex and it doesn't say anything about rules regarding what I asked. Which is why I asked for clarification on what the previous poster said.

Perhaps you ought to read the original question? You're either really dense or looking for a fight because if you had any sense you'd see that my question was a valid one since it isn't specifically stated in the codex.

If you open your Ork Codex to page 100 you will see the following

One Boy may be upgraded to a Nob
He may replace his choppa with one of the following
-big choppa
-Power claw
He may also take any of the following
-'eavy Armour
-Bosspole

SO THEN, it would SEEM that my questioning of the topic of interest is COMPLETELY VALID since it was the user nyyman and not ME who initially proposed the idea.

SO, what we can thus extrapolate is that Nyyman is probably wrong about being able to give a Boyz Nob a PK and a Shoota since the evidence you have presented seems to suggest that they may not.

Why don't you get some coffee and a double helping of reading comprehension before you decide to snub other people with your petulant snide attitude.

Thought I clarified that up there... reading comprehension huh?

Nyyman question was valid it has been discussed if a Nob can have a shoota but it's been clarified that a Nob can not due to the fact that he has to give up his Slugga and Choppa to have a shoota and need to give up his choppa to have a Power claw...

Funny how you could have just said that in the first place instead of being a snooty little prick and all of this would never have happened.

Try having a little brains and civility in the future.

"Your wrong you can't take a shoota with a Power Klaw "

Is not the same as:

"Nyyman question was valid it has been discussed if a Nob can have a shoota but it's been clarified that a Nob can not due to the fact that he has to give up his Slugga and Choppa to have a shoota and need to give up his choppa to have a Power claw... "

Want to take a guess why?

One has logic and explanation behind it. The other is a nasty "I know better than you but I won't tell you why" response.

Guess which one is annoying and inappropriate for a legitimate discussion.
