Hey guys, I just picked up the sport last year, and have started eldar as my first army ever. I picked 'em because I like losing. Seriosly . I wanted a race which would punish me for making mistakes. I also wanted a futuristic sci fi race, and tau / cron seemed too one demensional.

Here I am one year later with a 1500 point army (not a good one, but one nonetheless) I don't play as much as I like to, lawschool in Minneapolis distracts me from wargaming... haha. So pretty much I just expand and play on breaks. If anybody from around southern michigan, like Ann Arbor, Birmingham, Troy, etc want to look me up and play a few friendly games when I'm around, hit me up with a private message.

I do like the painting aspect of the hobby, and I wish I was better at it. Even though I won't post pixies of my space elves because the paint job is embarassing, its reassuring to watch myself improve with each guy I paint.

Ha, funny story actually, I purchased most of what I own from Get Your Game On, that 20% off is indeed too good to pass up... Sadly I could never get a game going there... I usually ended up going to the paint creek games workshop and occasionally Labyrinth over on State Street to get a game in.

I'm actually from a bit further north though, over by summerset, etc. I did go to school in Ann Arbor which is why I know the area so well, but sadly I graduated... and I have no place to play in Minnesota, so I focus on my studies.

On another note, if anybody likes space elves I posted the army list I'm thinking about working up to for 2000 points over on the list rateings (http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/273783.page) I'm interested to hear what people think.

GYGO didn't used to have that 20% off but thank goodness they do now. Strange that you can't get a game. I was there a couple of months ago and they had new terrain set up. Have you tried Pandemonium in Canton? There's usually a few people playing there at almost any time. Not the best customer service in the world, however.
