For those who don't know me, I am still new to the rules of 40K. Long time in the hobby on and off, but now finally starting to game. So here is my quesiton. If the Tygron Deep Strikes onto impassable terrian or model, it reduces the scatter distance to a minum until it avoid the obsticle. So if we land on an enemy model, to avoid it we move it till it's what 0.001 away from the enemy model correct? Well since you have to be more than 1" away (1.001") from an enemy model, does the Tygron have to roll on the D/S mishap table, or does it move 1" away?

Ok now, what if a Tyrgron D/S within say 1/4 or 1/2 inch of an enemy model? What happens? Well since it didn't D/S ontop of the enemy model, and since you are not allowed to D/S within an 1" of an enemy model, does the Tyrgron move 1" away or does it have to roll on the D/S mishap table then?

Since it dosn't say (RAW) to move 1" away from enemy model, just to move it so it avoids it, I have to assume it is moved 0.001" away and then has to roll on the mishap table. If that is not the case and you move it 1" away, what if it can't move 1" away because it will go off the board, or be within anthour 1" of anthour enemy model, what happens then?

Simple answer Davor is game workshop rarely play test the rules together, and little glitches come up. Move him +1" away this is the RAI (Yes Gwar, i know that can't be proved but I'm willing to bet it is)

Actually I think he dies. He technically can not be placed within 1" of an enemy unit so he would not come on the table. Just make sure you place him 1" or more away.

The rules for DS dictate you must be more than 1" away from an enemy model and any model that can not be placed is destroyed.

Anti Nike rule here....Just DONT do it!!

OH SNAP! That's a challange if I ever heard one!

If, when a Trygon (or Trygon Prime) deploys via Deep Strike, it scatters on top of impassable terrain or another model (friend or foe !), reduce the scatter distance by the minimum required to avoid the obstacle.

In order to avoid the Obsticle, it has to be legaly placed, which means it is placed 1.000000000000000000000000000000000000...0000001" away, the same way as Spods or Drop Pods are.

So there Tri, it's RaW, not RaI.

However, you are correct in that GWs idea of "playtesting" is "how can we sell more of new model xyz".

Ah thanks Gwar, so it's placed 1.000000000000000000000000000...00001 away then. Ah I see leagally placed, so 0.01 for friendly model, 1.000000000000000...000000000000001 for enemy model.

Thank you guys for your help.

"how can we sell more of new model xyz".

Thats easy:

Step one release vague rule sets so people try to cheese out the rules with varied interpretations
Step two wait severall months before clarifying how said rules work
Step three make sure the rules work totally oposite of the vast majority of players opinions
Step four the majority of players stop playing said models/units and purchase new units to play in their army

Quite smart if you aske me heheh.

I know i have a mixture of fear and excitement at the up coming beasts of chaos ... sorry Beastmen, no more chaos we really reformed now believe me codex. I just hope whats left of my army (after losing warriors, demons ... why the hell do warriors get Ogre, Trolls and my favourite Dragon Ogres ...) will be over powered enough to make my loses unnoticeable.

Wait until you see the new minotaurs.....damn those things a re lovely. The rules for them arent bad either. Core chariots still remain as well, which helps.

Sorry about the loss of marks, however there is enough interesting stuff in there...

Oh, and Ambush is.....less useful now. Howveer you have a useful rule "Primal Fury" and Centigaurs arent the liabilty they once were!

step one: Write ambiguous rules for people the argue over
Step Two: ???
Step three: Profit.
