During winter , its great! *almost* no bugs , and that includes spiders.
In the garage however i saw spiders inside all over.
Dead or alive atm it doesnt matter because soon when spring comes , they'll be there ALIVE.

So i was thinking is there a sure way to exterminate them without killing myself with bug spray?
( there are tons of flower arrangement stuff so i dont think its safe to leave chemical residue all over )

So far i was thinking if it would work if i turn the car engine on , and let the carbon monoxide fill the garage while leaving
all the doors closed. And maybe after 5 mins i go in and turn it off , run back out and close the door again.

Please dont post and pics of spiders , i asked this same question last year and i never looked at it again after someone posted australian clock spider.

Filling your garage with car emissions is more likely to harm you than the spiders,though I'm cerainly not an expert,I'd wager the differences in human and arachnid respitory systems would almost insure you would be in greater danger of adverse reaction than the spider.

Or, if it does't die, put two (male and female) and let them be a mother and father so they will eat around 20 a day....

@Fitzz no im not sitting inside with them lol. Just turn engine on , close door and run out. And turn engine off and leave the emissions in.

What kind of spider are we talking about? Also, why would you want to get rid of spiders? They eat flies, mosquitoes, and a lot of those pesky gnats.

Well, something small, like a lizard. I don't know anything about your abiotic factors, I guess it's like my state, CO.
Or, you can buy some rat killer food and put a little meat in it.
If that doesn't work, if you have ants, get ant killers and let the spiders to eat the ants.

We dont have food here for flies or mosquitoes to eat , and spiders are my #1 fear.
As for mosquitoes i think there are those giant mosquitoes that looks like flying spiders that eats them * SHUDDERS

I dont know what kind , they are brown and run insanely fast , they dont seem to be capable of climbing smooth walls , but they are able to reach my room because the stairs have carpets.
The other type i dont know... webs and er -_- i hate describing spiders

Birds, Spider-Hunting Wasps, some fish, snakes, Praying Mantises, and even other spiders are some spiders worst enemies.

Two of spider-eaters, (male and female) if the right age, will start to eat more for two reasons:
1. They require energy to reproduce
2. The female needs to feed her baby(ies)

Leaving the car on in a sealed garage is a terrible idea.

If you do somehow kill all the spiders you can look forward to being overrun by all kinds of other bugs. The spiders in your house are what eats them.

There is a spray that is a direct shot killer. I forgot what its called. Its not a bug bomb that goes off and kills everything. Its made for, when you see a spider, you spray it and it dies real real fast. Hotshot I think its called. This way you kill the spiders you see, and the ones you dont keep on eating all the other bugs. Plus there is no residue to get on flowers.

What if they run really fast?
So far my only success to is to flood them with electronic spray turned upside down from 1 meter away and moving in!

Aha,I now understand what you were refering to Luna,at first I was picturing you chasing spiders around your garage with an aresol can that shot lightning bolts...but now all is clear.

The best part is , it doesnt let the spider leg curl up into a ball ( thats why dead spider freaks me out as much if not MORE visually )

electronic spray freezes them , it works on 9 out of 10 spiders but not the one that runs really fast ( this type freezes and defrosts )
i have tried drowning it in windex , pine sol , mr clean , it manages to crawl out of the liquid.

Well manchu , the spray in Predator 2 in the meat storage place would be more accurate.

you could always just live with em. what species are they. if there daddy long legs those are even spiders or poisenous.

Anything with 8 legs or more = gone.

Anything with legs longer than its body = gone.

Thats actually not true, most insects are quite vulnerable to changes in the atmosphere. You can kill many insects with smoke alone, their underdeveloped respiratory systems lack the ability to filter out harmful gasses. That said given the differing volume between a human and spider breath filling the garage with exhaust would most likely fail to get most, while creating a very dangerous situation for any human there.

The best bet is just to get over your fear of spiders.

Don't tell me that didn't even make you smile!

Also, killing spiders isn't so great beacuse:

(1) it's bad luck (read Huck Finn)

(2) they eat the house pests that really cause trouble

But if you insist, try diazinon:



Mix with water and then spray it liberally on the ground around the edge of your house. Not sure if you can get it in Canada. May even be illegal in US, actually . . .

BUT IT WORKS!

I just use bengal pest control spray for any offending arachnid,it kills them grave yard dead in miliseconds.
Have you considered any of the "electronic" repelents? supposedly these work very well with no toxic chemicals.

So,while I was incorrect concerning arachnid respiration,I was correct in that filling the garage with car exhaust would create a situation that was more hazardous to humans than the offending spiders...I can live with that

I recommend staying away from gas or poison. If you don't mind letting spider-eaters into your garage I suppose it's an option, or you can look at electronic countermeasures.

I personally am fine with spiders as long as they stay out of my house proper. In the garage, they deal with pests and don't bother me, and for that I thank them.
