Blocks are anvil, Knights are hammer. Horsemen and Doggies are screen/flankers. Sorcerers apply magical pressure.

Hot sex, MNOP. Only things missing IMO are roar on somebody and light armor on the horsemen, but there's nothing that is really worth dropping to find those 30 points.

I'm wondering if you'll miss having a BSB around, but smart playing should help mitigate his absence ... Let us know how it works out, it really is a mighty tasty list.

IMO any disc mounted sorcerer lord NEEDS the magic armor that stops wounds from being multiplied. Otherwise you have a very good chance of losing all that expensive magical muscle to war machine fire.

I have a 3+ Ward against shooting, I do believe. I think that will suffice.

Some war machine fire negates armour anyway.

nice list first off. i run something very similar, with a Lvl 4 demon prince, fury of the blood god and mark of Tz instead of the lord on disc. im not sure if that build would help your list or not, as you would need to free up a few points (i often drop the lvl 4 as it isnt that much of a boost). In my neck of the woods the flying nasties tend to rule the tourney scene (lords on dragons/ Tz greater demons mainly). having a high lvl mage with good damaging spells that can blast the melee lords, or melee the magic lords has won me a few games. MR (2) with a 3+ward vs magic tends to make Kairos lists crap themselves, which is worth it imho.

So, I am debating on tossing 6 Warriors from each block and adding another unit of doggies. If I add light armor and a musician to the Marauder Cav, that leaves me ~120pt to tinker with. How about Great Weapons on the Warrior blocks? Think I should go up to six Knights for each over five?

Any thoughts?

I play against similar list (only difference is combat Lord on Juggernaught). What I really like about this list is every unit is a particular threat. The double Nurgle is awesome b/c you can snipe with buboes or give some delicious regen to those Warriors.

Like said above, I think a few horde armies will give you a run for your money. Skaven have some new nastiness that's aimed at wounding a lot of stuff and ignoring armor so watch out. Also I think an Empire gun line could wreck your but just get stuck in and watch them run.

Units of 6 knights will be tight. Maybe give one unit (or both ) mark of Nurgle?

Army builder is saying your list is 2268 pts. Did you miss the Mark of Slaanesh on your warrior units?

That would be it. So, I will just reduce them to 12 anyhow and give the army a little working over. Not a big deal, as I had planned to do that anyhow. I could also reduce them to 16 and include the Lvl2 to bump it to 18.

Thoughts?

Eh, in my experience 12 chaos warriors never win combat, at least not by enough to matter.

13 attacks, 8 hit, 5 wound, 2 saved so 3 go through.

1 rank, 3 kills, banner.

Enemy doesn't do anything to me. They have 3 ranks, banner, numbers. I'm statistically tying with a unit that's like 2/3 my points cost, and god forbid they make a couple extra saves or cause a casualty on me by sheer luck. Now here comes my Ld 7 or 6 check to run away, which I'm probably going to fail.

So for me, it's go big or go home. I'll take 18 and join a character to them. +2 ranks and the extra wounds from a S5 character USUALLY wins me combat against most things. But remember my calculations are against your average WS3 T3 4+ save unit. Anything better, and it just gets harder and harder to win as they're better at killing or harder to kill. Chaos Warriors just don't have enough oomph to get past 7th edition's massive static combat res modifiers.

Well, by themselves, they may be underwhelming, but what about in conjunction with the remainder of the list. I have a lot of mobility, so I could get into advantageous situations.

Anyhow, I can try out a block of 12 and hope for the best. If it doesn't work out, I can buff it.
