I'll get some 40K stuff on there. Should help a bit. Thank-you for that.
First and foremost, the podcast is going to be 40K tactics and strategies all the time. So, you are going to hear very little else other than straight up 40K talk be it about strategies, army lists, tips for playing the game, codex overviews, and what not. I think in episode one, of the 1hr and 36 minutes, 2 minutes are used to introduce our podcast, talk about our game club and game experience, and otherwise, it's all 40k.
There's a bunch of GREAT podcasts out there already which will give you the skinny on news, upcoming events, painting/hobby stuff, and other 40k related material. We thought we could give back to the podcast community by creating one which focused just on playing the game better. This by no means is stating that we are catering to some kind of hard core gaming crowd. We're actually very friendly people who love to learn about and teach others how to play 40K.
We are scheduling a new episode each week to be somewhere between 1-2 hours. All episodes are done in segments. Right now segments for Episode 1 and 2 are:
1) This week in gaming - discuss our gaming each week, games we played, what happened, etc.
2) Weekly Tips (lost pages of the codex astartes) - 3 tips each week on how to better play
3) Codex Countdown - Starting with the Necrons in Episode 1
4) Startegy Muse - Conversations about ways to look at the game from a strategy or tactics point of view. This segment is in episode 2 and deals with how to look at units and armies in terms of making a game plan.
5) List Review (segment untitled) - This will be in Episode 2. We are going to sit down our entire gaming club and talk about favorite lists. This is going to be a fun segment because you will get to hear about the list from the player, but you will also get to hear about the list from the perspective of opponent's who have played against it.
We're still working on segments for Episode 3, but it will certainly contain more tips for the week, probably another segment in Codex Countdown, and whatever else comes across the table between now and then.
Feel free to leave us any feedback either by e-mail or on our forums. We look forward to feedback and buildling an awesome podcast community.
