Hey Everyone.

Alright, I am setting up a tournament at my FLGS during Spring Break or sooner.

It will be a team tournament with 16 players. 1500pt list and to help make it a little more fun.... Teams will each choose a singe strategic asset per player which cannot be changed throughout the tournament. List will be kept the same throughout the tournament as well. Teams will be chosen at random to keep a level of fairness. There will be 3 rounds. There will be a 10 dollar entry fee so I can purchase prizes for the winners. 1st place team will win 40 a piece, 2nd place will win 20 a piece, and 3rd will win 10 a piece.

1st is easily be determined by the team who won the 3rd round.
2nd is also easily deterimned by by whoever lost to 1st place.
3rd will be determined by teams of the 2nd round keeping track of kill points earned during the battle.

I need to know what everyone thinks of the tournament and I would really appreciate any and all feedback.

Pretty much, or there is the strategic asset from the Reload book for the nids. You get 6 pieces of terrian up to 6 inches in diameter and you can choose 3 different types. I would take the digestion pools on all 6 so i have a line of 36 inches of impassible terrain to infantry and a 4+ glancing hit to vehicles if they cross it.

There are other options you can choose and guarenteed there will be a wide variety in the Tournament.

Have you considered the stratagems from Planet Strike?

Make sure to allot 3 hours for each game. With these size lists, and unfamiliar partners getting to know each other and learning to work together, and the additional complication of the assets, they're going to take that long.

I generally recommend that team tourneys keep each individual player in the 900-1200pt range, if they're going for 2hr - 2.5hr rounds, and that's assuming the team members know each other and know they're working together beforehand.

We considered the planet strike strategems, but we are only keeping it to Apocalypse.

As for a time limit, we start out early and the matches will be around 2-2.5 hours per match and we are hoping that the Strategic Assets would help speed up the battles especialy if your getting hit with a 10" blast from something.

It's still a work in progress and the manager of our flgs has encouraged us to host it at the store where tables we be reserved. Though I am trying to see if GW would help us with prize support and we were declined. Im thinking about asking the regional manager who is a friend of mine if she could help us out. I have a feeling I will be recieving the same answer though.
