I am not sure where this thread would go, but here goes...
I was wondering, besides grabbing a flat base (for the spacing) or another model of similar size, is there any other way to proxify models and units?
I really do not want to shell out $24-$30 to try out a model only to find that it does not work as well as it did on paper...

I have to admit, I miss the old Infantry battles of 4E compared to this 5E wonderland of APCs/IFVs everywhere. It's like we jumped from WWI to WWII.

Aside from cardboard cutouts and what you listed before, I can't thing of anything. Chess pieces work when in a pinch, or even coins. That's about all I got though...

As if on cue, you hear two people singing from the stairwell, and the door is opened and a pair of very smelly, very dirty guardsmen stumble in, completely drunk, and covered in vomit, and immediately collapse unconsious on the porch. You drag them to their beds, realising that they will not be waking up for some time. |

My post from a similar thread last week: Gorkamorka wrote: One of my roomates made a fairly nice cardstock nids army and a small necron army, to try them out before deciding which to buy. IIRC he took the pictures off the GW main site or google images, copied them into word or something and scaled them so the base size in the picture was correct, printed them on cardstock (on 1 side), cut them out and cut bases for them that he taped a penny to for weight. They could do with a slightly neater cut-out, but those actually look pretty good

I'm impressed, I just cut out disks of paper and wrote down what it was supposed to be, though with "true line of sight" it can get tricky as all your models are 2 dimensional. Really easy though, proxied a 200 gaunt army in like 20 minutes.
