Hi,

This just came up today and I hadn't encountered it before. If skirmishers charge a unit, the models are measured individually, and only those that can reach are placed touching the front rank of an enemy unit. This can leave extra space at the front. I'd assumed that after the first combat finished, the rest of the skirmishers would be moved up to fill the space, but I can't find if this is true, and if it is, where it is written.

Could someone point me in the right direction here?

Thanks,
Steve / RiTides

Sure. There are two maneuvers that can be performed in combat. You must win combat and be engaged to just a single side to be able to perform either maneuver.

Your options are to increase frontage by up to 5 or to turn to face a unit in your flank or rear.

The second can be tough to pull off by many blocks- not easy to win a combat when you've been engaged in the flank.

This is detailed on page 46 of the BRB under Free Manoeuvres.

“It was in lands of the Chi-An where she finally ran him to ground. There she kissed him deeply as he lay dying, and so stole from him his last, agonized breath.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

Ah, that's it... I didn't realize that since skirmishers form up in a block, that would apply to them when they're in combat.

Thanks!
