This list is for an upcoming Battle Missions tourney my FLGS is having. Let me know what you think.

CCS and Infantry form gunline, holding something important on my table edge. They are supported by the Executioner. PCS with the Chimera moves to some sort of objective, and sits on it, as a scoring unit. Or supports the gunline. Vets go in Vendetta, and dump out behind enemy locations and fire into MCs or MEQ/TEQ. Kasrkins deep strike and go tank hunting. MotF is to help me slow down enemy reinforcements, and Astropath is to get my Kasrkins in asap.

Lt! You usin stormies again? Tell me how they perform, you know I'm interested in them...

List looks pretty tight, but I think I'd rather have GL's than flamers in the line squads. Not critical, and the flamers do give you some anti-horde. I would rather be firing across the board from the start than waiting for them to come across.

I would also suggest the GL for better general purpose use, unless you know you'll be facing also of horde, but GL work ok there. And their range makes up for the smaller blast IMHO.

I find that the Astropath can sometimes help, and sometimes be worthless (YMMV). How big of a board will you be playing on? A MoO I find to be rather effective. Just be ready for it to scatter.

I would also suggest putting at least on vet squad in the chimera. 3 plasma guns are a big target. The AC/2 GL is a smaller worry. Put them behind the squads to give orders and get a cover save.

@murdog ~ I like my Stormtroopers. They may not always do much. But MEQ armies can get scared of the AP3 so they are good distractions sometimes if nothing else. And they are fun to play with IMHO.

stormtroopers are dope, i have had so many games won by those, i like to outflank them with a transport, flamer, power, and a priest so they can flame and fire away any squad needbe and then assault any remains and kill them with the power and the rerolls of the priest. if they are left in the open i see them just getting shot up.... armor 4+ is pretty good, but not great if someone wants them dead which for me tends to happen. def since AP3 guns can be really nasty!

I would assume they'll be in the Vendettas.

Storm Troopers were mediocre. They got to where they needed to with the deepstrike re-roll, but when asked to actually blow up some armor, they simply didn't get the job done. Which was pretty much my fear, 2 melta simply isn't enough be be 100% successful. And then, as I expected, they died the turn after, before I could have them shoot again.

Gunline sucked a bit. It's the weakest part of my army. Chimera and Executioner did fantastically, altho the Executioner basically was the priority target for the whole game.

Vendetta with plasma vets were by far, the most brutal combo I had on the board. Although I think I might swap out one Vendetta for a Valk w/MRP, and hope the storm troopers fare better next time.

Tx for the update, too bad about the stormies. What do you think about a plasma pistol on the sgt? Would an extra S7 shot help (not against LR's, but against side/rear armour of most other vehicles)? It may be worth the 10 extra pts.

What's making the gunline weak? Just not enough boots on the ground maybe...

Sorry for the late response, haven't felt like dakkadakkaing a lot lately. Been sick. I never really thought to put a pistol with the sarge, I will keep that in mind if I try to build a marine hunter list. One more shot, is one more shot.

The gunline was weak, simply because it's just a bunch of infantry sitting in the open, carrying around a ton of Autocannon. My opponent just hit them in melee right out, and used their bodies as cover. I also got multi assaulted which I should have known would happen.

I played my Vendetta too close, I should have kept them at max range, to avoid letting them get shot up.

I think it would help in the tank-hunting role as well, considering there's only two shots from the meltas...

Yea, none of what you said made a lot of sense. MoO in a 1250 game? Astropath worthless when having 2 deepstriking units? Vets in a Chimera, when I have two Vendetta?

You do know what you just described with the stormtroopers is illegal right?
