Has it been reported that when you re edit a post it will sometimes revert back to the first non edited version?

I.E I may go in and edit a tIpo. THEN REALIZE THAT I MISSED SOMETHING, and go in and re edit it to fix the new tIpo, but then the original tIpo reverts back to a tIpo.

GG

edit..first edit was to change all typos to tIpo...will go back and re edit to see if I can recreate the problem.

re edit changed some words to caps and the phenomena didnt happen, I wonder if it only happens on my home computer? I will test tonight.

Let me test with this reply

TEST 2

- seems ok, cannot replicate and have not seen it before. Are you double clicking to edit or using the 'edit' button?

So this shows that the problem is on my home comp. Suggestions?

I noticed that the change I made to the first test and also my edit 1 was gone.

Sorry, do you use the edit button to edit, or do you double click to edit?

I've always used the edit button.

Didn't know you could double click.

The time I edit varies.

But one more piece of the puzzle, which makes me think the problem is associated with my internet settings on my home comp is that I have to hit the refresh button to see upated content.

I.E. I won't know if a thread has had new activity unless I hit refresh. I have to do this every time I enter a new forum on dakka when I am at home.

It sounds like the problem is down to an aggressive proxy server on your connection, or harsh settings on your browser cache.

It could be your ISP, in which case there is little you can do except continue clicking refresh a lot.

It could be your web browser settings, in which case I would recommend installing a different web browser (google chrome is the one I'd recommend usually). That should solve your problems.

Do you experience this on other forums too?

Ok, figured it out.

My internet optioin was set to "never" check for updated web pages of sites I visited. Changed to auto and it works now.
