Subject: If Centigors are cavalry ....?

Ok this came up in my last game centigors charged and my openent told me not to forget the mount ...
... Now I've got to say i feel that this is wrong and will be FAQ at some point but ... " Centigors count as cavalry, albeit of an unusal type, with a single profile. They follow the normal rules for cavalry models, including the +1 bonus armour save"
... since they are cavalry and the mount has the same profile as the rider (yes i know), sooo ...
Centigor (rider) 2 attacks with WS4 at str 5 (great weapon)
&
Centigor (mount) 2 attacks with WS4 at str 4
....please don't i hate me I would truely love this to be the case but I know its more likely to be poor wording from GW.

Assume the mount to be attacking with the hooves and with the torso & arms attacking with a weapon as per a rider. That would make sense.

I don't have the book, but going by that quote, I'd say they don't get the attacks for the mount, since they only have a single profile.
Yes they follow the normal cavalry rules, but without that second profile, there's no mount to attack with.

While yes, they are cavalry and get the bonus save (bad idea, GW), they aren't mounted. You need to HAVE a mount for it to attack.
You know, I never had a problem with they way Centigors (and Bull Centaurs) were handled as quasi-cavalry before. GW just made it more confusing, in my opinion...

This is my problem .... by saying they follow all the rules for cavalry I must try to follow them all. Now may be there are going to be new cavalry rules in 8th but ... can any one can tell me any other rules for cavalry? (i know +1 to saves and that the mount is ignore for every thing but movement and may make attacks) I'm at a loss why they would bother calling them cavalry (just give them heavy armour). Which is why i brought this up ... The mount has the same profile as the rider ... they're one and the same bloody thing. SO why bother calling them cavalry if they can't do the only thing that cavalry can. Don't tell me its just so great weapons only add +1str.

The thing is that there is no additional mount, so because they are the same thing they'll only get those 2 attacks, because that combines both rider and mount in this case.
And in a way, the Centigor itself is kind of the mount, just missing a rider, so to speak...

It's easier to think it like this.
They count as unit strength 2 and use spears as a mounted model rather then some one on foot and because they have a big bottom they get the +1 armour save XD

because they count as cavalry, they receive +1 str with their spears on the charge.
