2 x Inquisitorial Stoormtroopers x9 in Chimera just smoke (looking at 2 plasma gun is unit) 193 x 2 = 386

2 x 10 man Tact Squads with rocket and Meltguns Sgt with power weapon 190 x 2 = 380

1 5 man scout with with sniper rifles and Telion 137.

This is at 1611.

I could add 2 rhinos for 70 and a preditor with 3 las's for 165 or are there better options like maxing things out a bit more.

I'm limited on the marines by what I can take based on the daemonhunters rules and I can't take any grey knights.

Suggestions would be nice.

Most units are not configured well.

Inqisitor and retinue could be an excellent firebase/anti-psyker/anti-DS unit. They are fairly popular and effective...but close combat? Don't think about it,please.

IST should have as many special weapons(melta/plasma) as possible. The typical build is 2 guns in 5 men.

Oribital Strike is not cost-efficient today. Drop them.

Tac squads...why take them? SM player could take many support units(dread/speeder/predator...) to help them holding lines, and you can't have such support.



If you insist on building a DH-based army, IG infantry platoon is your good introducted troop unit choice. They could bring you long-range support fire, and new-version chimeras.

Unforunatly I don't have any guard guys at this point. I have a large Black Templar army so I was pulling from them using them as ultramarines.
If I did go out any get a bunch what kind of platoons would be a good build here.


I might switch one of the tact units out following your suggestion and build up the hq lords group.

I know the oribital might not be cost efective but I was running out of things I have models for and I was doing a test and wanted to see how some of this would play.

My real threat is tyranids right now.
