Hi guys, I'm making a microskirmish game. (less then 30 models aside.)

So, Some questions:

How many rounds does the Dakka public feel a bolter will have?
Bolt pistol?
heavy bolter
storm bolter
how many charge will a
Plasma cannon, gun, and pistol have?
how many uses a
multimelta
meltagun
heavy flamer
flamer has in one round.

out of curiosity.

just how do you plan on keeping track of 30 models ammo reserves?

Lots of "trust me" lol

I only see this working on smaller then a 30 a side skirmish. keeping track of all that ammo is going to be anything but easily done. An idea to help, instead of keeping track, you could do a necromunda esqe deal with your shooting. Roll to see if the gun works, or jams or needs to reload. Im sure you can do something as easy as, on a roll of 1, gun jams and takes a full 2 turns to fix. 2-4 works fine, 5 or 6 cant fire that fire phase. Thats just off my head, but I mean, something like that would work out decently anyways, better then having to count and tally and remember what squad and so on.

As for a "just so you know" heres a magazine

heres a clip

Somewhere in south-central England.

As it is a simple skirmish game I would either do a random jamming/out of ammo roll as part of the 'to hit' roll, or give each figure a heap of ammo counters, taking one away for each round of firing.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

...urrrr... I dunno

Hmmm, I'd have gone for the Inquisitor books as well, as |I recall they have a wide selection of Imperial guns for you to look at, complete with how much ammo they carry in their magazines.

no, the game model has both a reload system and an amunition counter.

very small game, meant fo 10vs.10 marines, and maybe up to 30 or 40 guardsman (but they wouldn't need to worry about reloads mr. 500 shots.)

It's worth noting that Krieg lasguns only have 25 shots per power cell, because they turn them to maximum power.

And then it gets even funkier when you start talking about their half-breed love child the M1 Garand used, which is technically a Clip, but not entirely in the traditional sense.

I would say check out the Dark Heresy/Rogue Trader books as well as Inquisitor. Both have stats on ammo capacity for most of the weapons you listed.

Crazypsyko, the garand thing is called an enbloc. First used in manliccher style rifles. Still a clip because it feeds an internal magazine on a firearm.

Thanks, I couldn't find anything on it, (granted I wasn't looking very hard, all I need to know is where the bullets go and I'm fine, usually.)

@ CaptianSolomon: These guys are only half right about the whole keeping track of ammo thing. If you're doing individual models acting independantly as in Inquisitor then keeping track of more the 2-3 characters per player regardless of race is a major PITA.

If you're doing squad based fights then it won't be a problem you just keep track of the ammo for the squad as a whole, you simply assume that they are firing like an Infantry Line would deliver supresive fire. I.E. Line 1 fires a moment before Line 2 so when Line 1 runs out of ammo and has to reload Line 2 is still firing. So that per turn it works out that everyone has used the same amount of ammo firing.

Are you planning on posting these rules? I for one am curious to see what you come up with, I like skirmish level games my self .
