Hey, making a return to some of my Tau, and wondering abut conversions. I'd love to make the Crisis Suits look a bit better, but don't want a huge modelling job. One of the first thing that's going (from the whole army) is the antennas, but I really dislike the boxy little Crisis Suit heads. I much prefer the bigger, curved Forgeworld ones, but they don't come separately.

Anyone have any good pics of more dynamic, simple Crisis Suit conversions, particularly other Tau bits used as heads???

Marine Land Raider lascannon sponson sensor/rangefinder thingies make perfect crisis suit heads. No conversion necessary, other than a bit of twiddling for the neck connection.

although it's unlikely you'd be able to find the parts, the heavy gear southern gears have curved heads reminiscent of the forgeworld ones and are the correct size if you can find some of the older RAFM miniatures that were twice the scale of their current offerings.

Still, I would suggest to have a look at the FW models. They are not that much more expensive.
