Yes, I was thinking, if I used makeup and a matt varnish, could I paint flesh (at least on big things) well?
Would it work?
Any tips?
Has anyone thought/tried of this?
Would it look good+be easier?
I do plan on asking my female friends at school for help as not to waste that stuff as it seems to be expensive.

Isn't makeup designed to never dry out otherwise it would crack when the face underneath moved

Indeed it is supposed to not dry up, it does in terms of weeks.
And the pigments are bigger than paint pigments (or it would be hell to remove) so it will look grainy on miniatures.
In the end, it's a really bad idea.

the only make up I'd even try would be nail polish for eldar jewels or something similar.

Ya, it wont work to actually paint. You might get away with some of the mineral powders working as a weathering powder- but thats about it.
Make up is for skin, not pewter or plastic.

I have tried it for weathering. Not good. It is like a way too soft oil pastel once applied and it smears, god does it smear far too much to ever handle the mini.

I did specify the mineral powders, they arent like pastels really.
And any weathering powder needs to be sealed with a varnish or matte coat to keep it in place.

Tried that on a terrain project. You can get interesting effects but certainly not anything for a model. Thin the metallic ones with acetone and you can do some interesting steaks on glossed paint that looks pretty alien though.

Okay thanks guys. I guess I won't try it then. ON that note, any quick easy ways to paint flesh?

Painting flesh is fun....oh wait, you mean painting the flesh colors on miniatures
I go with flesh toned paints, preferably vallejo, but I hear the newer GW colors work well enough.
Hit it with a wash, highlight the nose, cheek bones and jawline. thats a good basic start.
