Plymouth State University has a pretty good group of 40k players.

Otherwise, I can vouch for Elite Hobbies having a great group. So does Jetpack Comics. Though I understand that there's some cross pollination between the two groups.

We have a pretty good group in Londonderry, at The Game Castle.

I understand there's also a league going at Collectibles Unlimited up in Concord, which is a smaller store, but has an awesome owner. Obviously neither of those is near Maine, though.

I can confirm that Elite Hobbies in Dover is a great place.

As far as Southern Maine goes, I quite like Crossroads Games, in Standish.

Otherwise your heading up to the Augusta/Bangor area.
