Now that we have the Night Spinner as an option for the Fire Prism, does anyone know what the rules are for it?

you will find out in the June WD

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

The unit rules are supposed to be appearing on the website with just the game rules in WD.

The IA rules for the spinner are 72", S6, AP-, 7"blast.

The game rules will also be on the website, according to the latest email.

Really?

Spearhead is a new Expansion for Warhammer 40,000, and you'll find all the rules and information you need to start playing in June's issue of White Dwarf. And from Tuesday 1st of June rules for the various spearhead units will be available for you to download from www.games-workshop.com.

Where does it say that?

That says we're getting the spearhead units on the website (like apoc datasheets) - nothing about the actual rules.

Given I deleted it I cant check, however it did say that the rules would be available for free from the website.

I have checked it and the above are the only statements regarding the availability of the rules.

Here's the rest of the email regarding spearhead:
There you go: an entire Warhammer 40,000 expansion for free, leaving you plenty of extra pennies to pick up those extra tanks you'll need to demolish your opponent.
Spearhead
Spearhead

Spearhead presents you with an exciting new way to play games of Warhammer 40,000. For a start, Spearhead games are played along the length of the table, and all walkers and tanks that are chosen as part of a spearhead count as scoring units. Not to mention the fact that all those walkers and tanks will benefit from a host of special rules and abilities.

The rest is just new models.

If they are giving the expansion away for free, surely that precludes it only being available as part of WD?

Meh, I'll check with one of the 4 managers I know, hopefully HO has told them something useful for a change

It'll most likely be a PDF download as well as being in a WD, ala Blood Angels.

They're very clear that you need the WD to play. I think it's going to be on the Apoc model - rules in one location and then datasheets on the web.

Maybe they will be on the web but that's certainly not what the email says.

That is highly unlikely, as it will mean the expansion is never played.

I've texted one of the london managers who is most likely to respond, I hope.....however if they gave BA away on the website i would be massively surprised if SPearhead was WD only.

You seem convinced that the rules will be on the web but what are you basing this on? Everything I've seen has said rules in WD, datasheets on the web.

Have you not had the email prior to that one warning that the June WD is probably going to sell out as it's the source of the spearhead rules?

And why will no-one play it? A WD is cheaper than the planetstrike or apoc books.

Yes, but they WOULD say that, wouldnt they!

The entire point of the rules for the games is to sell miniatures: restricting access to rules to just WD wont help sell more miniatures, as fewer games will be played.

The GW Blog states that the Spearhead rules themselves will be in the WD, but the (or some?) Spearhead formation rules will be online.

Not only is it Grot-squishingly exciting, getting your hands on the rules for Spearhead couldn't be easier as June's issue of White Dwarf will contain all of the rules for Spearhead games. It's going to be a bumper issue, which means you should make sure you get your hands on it straight away - I'm reliably informed that it will be on shelves and on sale here at www.games-workshop.com from the 29th May so there are no excuses for missing out. Straight after that on the 01st of June we will be publishing the accompanying Spearhead formation rules here on www.games-workshop.com. You will need to be registered to access the content; registering is free and you can do it right here. So there you have it, a Warhammer 40,000 Expansion that lets you play dramatic tank battles. The rules are available in White Dwarf and online, all you need to do now is get building and painting tanks...

even if GW doesnt officially post the rules to download on the web, they will make their way there anyway.
