Without bringing up the whole teleporting yarrick thing i was wondering if when yarrick loses his last wound if he

  • Is removed from the squad he is attached to.

  • Can still give his Auras

  • I have found this troubles me in assult especaily when assult loses and is forced to do a moral check. If yarrick is still attached but can't confer fearless/stuborn/leadership does that mean that is the squad fails the moral and int test he gets crushed along with the squad whilst lieing down.

To me it makes sense that he can still confer all of his stuff because he isn't dead yet(Whats to stop him being inspiring after he gets hit by a tank shell, he will always trying to be getting back up again in one turn). My friends argue otherwise. Your thoguhts gents and ladies?

    1)Yes.
    2) Yes.

When he is down, he has not been removed as a casualty yet.

Gwar! - iron will says "if yarrick loses his last wound do not remove him, instead place him on his side".

He's not prohibited from moving, assaulting, anything else and he's not a casualty yet.

I agree that he ought to become simply a location marker but that's not what's written unless I'm missing something?

I understand the logic behind him not being counted and at the same time being counted makes sense to me.

He isnt technically dead till the next phaze unless he is uber killed(necron god, apoc grenade, turned into a squig) just realy realy wounded.

I am one of said friends who argues against this.

Sure, using the RAW, that would make sense; then again, it also only says that he is laid on his side, and so he could continue doing whatever he wants, the only difference being that he would be lying down rather than standing up.

Also, what is inspirational about seeing your commander lying down, bleeding and half dead, crawling and straining to get back up?

Then again, I also hate the unkillable little , so I just want him to be nerfed as much as possible.

How about seeing your commander, despite laying on the ground bleeding and half dead, crawling and straining to get back up?

Or your commander, who's just taken a battlecannon to the chest and still isn't dead so everyone rallies to protect him.

This is the problem with trying to impose fluff on the rules - it's just your interpretation of the fluff.

The problem with trying to play that way is that it creates a situation where the model has zero wounds but other models can still inflict further wounds on him via shooting or close combat. This is a situation completely outside the scope of the rules and therefore is *not* a 'clear' way to play.

Beyond that, having a model which has been reduced to zero wounds continuing to behave completely normally (beyond the side-benefit of being completely impervious to further damage if you're assuming that's how to play the situation) is unlikely to make sense to most players.

Personally I would categorize trying to play this way with Yarrick just as absurd as having him teleport across the battlefield when he stands back up.

I agree entirely, it makes no sense and creates ridiculous situations. I think we need to turn this thread around into a How Would We Play That thred.

Personally, I think that after lying down he cannot shoot or assault but his Aura continues to have it's effect. That's pretty straightforward.

He continues to be a member of the unit he's with (if he's with one) and moves/fallsback with them but is no longer an eligible target for assault or shooting. If the unit is subject to sweeping advance then he is lost as well.

    Thoughts?

What happens if he's on his own when he loses his last wound and is overrun by the enemy?

They CAN lose combat and therefore No Retreat! applies.

Yes, but they can't be Sweeping Advanced, so the situation Scott-S6 suggests can't happen.

I know. I put that in because there's an increasing trend towards special rules that break the basic rules and there might be something that makes you fall back regardless.

If he is the last model he isfearless and cant be SA, and cannot take anymore NR! wounds...interesting!

I think i will just go with what the opponent is happy to allow by there interpretation of the rules. I dont think that he should be able to should or hit back whilst down, but i do think he should be able to give aurus.

Thx for the clarification on how slow the situation is.
