greetings fellow dakkites. i have finally gotten am account here on the site and figured that I'd start a blog about my bor'kan sept army.

as many tau players who have read the codex as obsessively as i have know. the bork'an sept is home to many earth caste scientists and general know it alls. and as a result i have devised an army with all kinds of technological goodies. such as special issue gear that will be handed out to the various team leaders as i find one who won't have his back split in two by it. other than that i'll be coming up with some alternative suit designs, gear, gue'vessa (because the aun said i need to be an equal opportunity employer.) as well as what ever else jumps into my head at the time.

anywaay with no further stalling i present some wip pics of what i've got so far.

here is a group shot of the first batch of fire warriors as of a few weeks ago.

an even older close up of their shas'ui. (i promise he looks at least a little better now)

and last but not quite least is my first crisis suit. i know some of you are screaming bs because i promised suit conversions but bear in mind that this guy is just an 'ui in his team. i'm saving the bits and comversioning madness for the 'vre's and 'o.

pardon the craptastic pics here, my camera has been on the fritz lately.

to find out if there is method to my apparent madness tune in next time i can cram in an update.(exams coming up so it'll probably be some time next weekend)

Cool stuff. Though it isn't converted, I do like the crisis suit.

Call me insane, but would you consider painting the EMP/Photon grenade held by the Firewarrior with a red top, white bottom, and a black middle thing? I like it when firewarriors are pokemon trainers...

Thanks, though there is still some work to be done on him such as some more paneling and sept markings ect. to be totally honest i thought that thing was a marker light and only realized that it was a grenade after i had already plastic glued everything together and started painting. soo to compensate I'm counting the squad with photon grenades because lets face it, with ws 2 emp grenades are about as useful as giving an ork a rail riffle, it might hit but the odds are against it. so I'm of to get set in to painting for the weekend and see what comes of it.

Nice work. That's a pretty good paint job on the battlesuit. Do you have any tanks?

my friend has white tau and it can be done very nicely. i would make the white armor bright and contrast well with the other garb to make it seem uniform more. you have this now, but i feel that it seems a bit dulled, but that could just be a camare. i like it thou, just would like the contrast between the white and the rest of the colors to be stronger.

alright going in order:

@Boss 'eadbreaka: unfortunately due to a lack of model fodder all i got is the 12 fire warriors and the suit. but there will eventually be 5 tanks in the list.

@Sageheart: that dull effect is an unholy trinity of my over confidence (i painted the space wolves Grey directly over black ) my absolutely horrid photography, and the auto adjust on the gallery.

and last but not least @Regnek: thanks that means a lot coming from such an epic painter such as you. don't be afraid to show me up and post pics.

anyway i have made a slight change to the sequence of my armor plates which will hopefully speed up the painting process as well as improving the quality of the finished models. I'll have a side by side later tonight.
