First game in seven years tomorrow evening, frantically finishing up my troops as we speak!

I'm going up against Chaos Daemons - which I know absolutely nothing about.

That's a pretty nasty small-games list. I don't think daemons are famous for long-range firepower, so you should be alright.

Just keep in mind that he does deep strike everything though. He has to divide his army into 2 waves, and 1 (picked randomly) comes in 1st turn, the others come in as normal reserves. So, go 2nd if you have the choice. Try to deploy your guys in a way that when his first units come in, he cannot drop >12" away and still be in LOS. So he's either got to get close right away, or forego that first turn of shooting. (because assuming he's a decent player and can see your army, he should try to drop any shooting units first, and destroy your trukks, forcing you to slog about the board trying to close.

Obviously, if your opponent fields mostly/all assault troops, it's a slogging punch-up; I don't think you need to fear anything there!

I know I can expect Bloodletters, Plague Bearers and a Soul Grinder!

I think I'll try to disable the Soul Grinder as soon as possible, if that thing lands an Ordnance template on my head I'm toast.....if I can't get to it I'll block it's LOS with the empty Trukks.

Well, I know that bloodletters are a good thing to shoot up before charging, should net you a lot of wounds. Soulgrinder is S10, right? So it can kill a couple people in assault, but put those wounds on the non-PK nobs, and S9-10 hits should do the business.

If I can get up close to the Bloodletters and fire off all the Kombi-Skorcha's (three per squad!) just before I charge they will die on a 3+.....no armour saves! Gotta love fire.

Soulgrinder has Dreadnaught CCW's so yeah, S10 - expect a few dead there, it is up against WS5 though if my Waaagh! Banner holder is still alive!

Well, they have an invulnerable. Remember Soul Grinder is AV 13 so you could chuck another PK if you wanted somewhere in the Nobs. To be honest fielding that list isn't the nicest thing to do, especially if with a friend, but whatever.

With the Warboss packing a Klaw as well I think that's 13 PK attacks on the charge, plus charging Big Choppa Nobz can scrape some damage as well.

It is perhaps a little unfair abusing the wound allocation rules but.....I haven't played in 7 years, I've never played 5th edition, I've never played with my army, I've never played against Chaos Daemons AND he works for Games Workshop! Gotta try and give him a challenge

Edited the list a little, removing some Bosspoles and adding Armour Plates to the Trukks.

defiently shoot those pesky bloodletters before getting into cc. Power weapons could do you some hurt. Other than that this games in the bag for yah.
