Subject: Battlefoam PACK - 432: How much foam can it really fit?

Hi, I noticed on one of Romeo's videos he fit what appeared to be 4" of foam comfortably in a 216, which is meant to only hold 3".
Was wondering if anyone who has experience with a 432 could tell me if they fit more than the described 7.5".
Hope so as 8.5" or 8" of foam would be really handy for me.
Tata for now

Let me tell you that the 720, supposedly designed for airplane travel does NOT fit in the plane overhead compartment or under the seats.
I have attempted to contact Battlefoam twice and have had no replies to me expressing my displeasure.
To be fair, up until this point the customer service has been great.. getting ignored for three days after presenting a problem is not cool.
To answer your question.. the BF cases can 'typically' hold about an inch or so more than they say they can because there is some give in the zippers.

Do you mean the dimensions of the bag are actually larger than what said airline allowed (I understand there are differences between airlines) or that the case physically did not fit available space. If the latter, it's not necessarily Battlefoam's fault. I mean, if they made it up to specs, it seems to me it's the airline's problem if carry-on luggage made up to those specs does not, in fact, fit.

The supply does not get to make the demands. |

Yeah, it's why I'm going for the 432, it's comfortably within limits.
Also I don't know about US, bbut here the regulatory's board limits are a very different thing from an airlines.
So battlefoam may make it comply with the FAA or FSAA or whatever the US one is limits, while it exceeds the majority of airlines' limits.

The 432 should fit.. If I had to guess you could probably fit about 8 to 8.5 inches of foam in there.

As far as putting luggage into an overhead or under a seat on a plane, its a crap shoot. I would imagine what Romeo did was get the official dimensions ofr whats allowable and then spec to that. Which makes sense. But once you start to get onto some of the smaller planes (MD-80? and below) you really are looking at luck of the draw. You can just plain forget about trying to get one of those 432's into an overhead on some of them, yet it would fit nicely in others. It's more a matter of how their spaces are configured rather than published limits.
I put on about 1.5 million miles in the last few years on planes, about half that with minis. I wont use anything but a GW hardcase because it is double walled. I put them in a special roller duffel that holds 2 cases plus all my stuff without goin over 50 pounds. Works for me. I just need a case for around town that holds GW size foams more than 3 to a case. Hauling around tyranids and IG in 4-5 ocntainers is a PITA.
