No it was actually more like the colonist rarely if ever went after the natives.  They would provide weapons to the natives and they would go after each other.  This recent Indian's are innocent ignorent savages who trusted those evil white people who ate their babies and made them watch Oprah crap is a recent invention starting in the sixties.  Most of the general shafting came from the man on the 20 dollar bill and he just did what they were doing to each other only he had more forces than they could hope to marshall and would use them.

I just wanted to say that if we were going to make a good Revolution analogy.... George Washington would be the emperor (because he won) and of course the British would be chaos having lost and been banished back to the eye od terror (aka the British Isles)..... I've been to Manchester and trust me it is the Eye of Terror.

But to get on point it doesn't seem like they have really gone with the American Indian background for some time.  Deathwing was written a long time ago and it does seem like the Dark Angels are now some kind of Nazi / Spanish Inquisition mix.  Of course that does seem to fit with the whole 40k good guys are just about as bad as the bad guys.

 

Reading this thread I have gone from intrest, subtle uncomfort, outright confusion,and now well im just sort of disgusted. I can't beleive the ideas and concepts that are coming out of some your heads. DICE MONKEY..I am praying to whatever entity might be watching over us at the moment that you are being horribly sarcastic. Because that is one the most ignorant, uninformed statements I have ever read about a culture group. And you may want to know that the french and indian war had nothing to do with indian relations and everything to do with economic expansion in the new world. And Flatlander, my dad is an Alumni of U of I and he was pretty upset too. But did you even know that the Illini are a real tribe of people, who never did that sort of goofy war dance the mascot used to do? Who were chosen as the mascot because they were such fierce fighters. There are hundreads of native american themed teams, high schools, colleges, what have you that no one, not even native americans, have a problem with because it is done respectfully. Without some goofy dance or some rediculious version of traditional Native American dress.

I have no problem with DA having native american iconography. GW has sort of steered the chapter in a new/dark direction just like everything else. But people, we are talking about an imaginary universe 39,000 years in the future if GW wants to put the "Apache Planet" in alignment with some would be priest/cult/secreatly bad group, I really dont the think the ACLU is gonna come after them. Leave the feathers alone, if for no other reason that it makes the chapter stand out from all the other drudgery out there.

There is a pic somewhere of the new deathwing models painted, but I cant recall if they have any stuff.

Now that my sisters army is done, I'm building a my own marine chapter based around native american items....
