Holy crap! An update!

I have been talking about the Landraider I have been working on a fair amount, and finally(!) I am going to post some pics!

Pretty basis so far. The little winged skulls are just from the CoD kit, and the white thing stickin in the back is going to be a big banner pole that is currently magnetized in (I learned my lesson to never make permanant anything that won't fit in a Sabol Tray.)

One of the main changes I wanted to make to the LR is to make it driven by a techpriest instead of a Marine. So I dug out a mostly bionic head I had in my bitz box, and found some GS.

Not the finest bit of GS sculpting that has ever been done, but I have done very little, so I am fairly pleased. My cat was also generous enough to lend her feet to the picture, since she was fascinated by the project and just had to be a part.

Speaking of slightly annoying things:

Blow me, Forge World. Small ass door crap... grumble grumble.

Action shots!

I call her "Inquisitor Emergant". :-P

I even went so far as to paint the interior bits before putting it together (a big strain on me).

More next post!

Not that it is together and primed, time for some paint!

This is going to be the general color scheme when it is done: white top carapace, silver lower, with purple panels and gold trim.

After finishing the base coat and applying an ink:

My camera apparently hates the current state, because it refuses to take a clear picture.

Also, while I was slugging away on the LandRaider, I was working on a side proejct, a scratch sculpted Eversor Assassin.

Starting with a Reaper dolly, some GS and some bitz, I came up with this.

Migusla will be proud to note I started the base BEFORE the mini.

I fitted the pieces together and borrowed the front of a skeleton from HeroQuests' head, and got this:

See, he is already so assassiny you can't catch a clear picture on film!

Though it looks like I could have given him just a square of cardboard for a base, since he is just break dancing anyway... he's not glued down. Or past 10% done.

The Landraider is clearly no match for the 300 foot tall grey cat of doom.

Nicely painted inquisitor!

Thank you sir!

Little Mindy is Str 10, but fortunately can only ever cause glancing hits to vehicles more than 5" from the edge of the table.

The assassin looks cool so far, but I hope you're not planning on using that skull for his head! Try a modified necron head- the destroyer heads look especially effective as assassin heads.

I intend to use it for his mask. There is a smaller head inside, and I figure a few straps here and there along with more armor will make it a bit more proportional, and less "bad Halloween costume."

Speaking of armor, I am going to go for some plates here and there to balance out not only the head, but also the large looking gun and the soon to be claw action. When he is done he will probably be fairly marine like in bulk, with the plethora of drug dispensors, plates of armor and tubing.
