Steampunk has always been a label applied by others to the game. The setting has steam, it has some
punk, but it's not fully steampunk. It's a fantasy world with mechanical elements. Full Metal Fantasy.

This seems more an attempt to draw the Japanese market than anything. coughtaucough

Not a whole lot in Warmachine is very functional at all. Very large shoulder pads are everywhere, swords tend to all be slashing weapons with no points and are usually rounded at the tip, Warjacks are so top heavy it isn't funny, guns and cannons exist, yet bows, crossbows swords and spears abound, Man-O-War suits can't fit their wearers, and Menites wear ones that are the same size or bigger and run around in them without steam assistance.

Like PP's setting or not, the Elves fit in. Nyss fit in well before and after they were blighted, and Iosians fit too. They don't like other races to begin with, and the Retribution believe that humans use of magic are killing their gods, so they're killing them to save their gods. PP does a good job with it's own background and I give them the benefit of the doubt that their elves will continue to fit into their setting.
