Learn to Magnitise.
I know the procedure but what is needed first is unknown to me.
A form of drill, a clamp, some green stuff and magnets but what kind of drill and bit, where do I get the magnets? These things I dont know.
And I had all the money in the world during university. Now I have graduated it seems to have all disappeared

Being a limey myself, I can help here. http://www.powermagnetstore.com/ I have used this store before, so I can vouch for it (not used it in a while though). What you want are the Disc (or if you need a more secure fit and have room to drill deep, Rod) magnets, they range from 2mm wide x 0.4mm Deep to HUEG! And the ones you need for models are literally pennies to buy! http://www.powermagnetstore.com/acatalog/copy_of_Disc_Magnets.html http://www.powermagnetstore.com/acatalog/Rod_Magnets.html As for the Drill, get a hand held "Pin Vice" off ebay with small drill bits ( mm size ones). Works just fine.

Got a hobby knife? Take the blade off; put a drillbit in; profit.

The hobby knife costs more though lol.
Also seen a Citadel one for £9.49 and P&P was £9.49 +£18.97. Who the hell would actually pay that when they could just get pick up one from the GW store for cheaper lol.

Sorry, I assumed you had one, since it's one of the basic tools on the hobby.
Mind if I ask how much a hobby knife is there?

Don't bother with the GW one, any 30p Stanley Knife will do.

My scapul knife from my dissection kit will do i think.
And it is £8.
To me the basic tool is glue and everything else is just rounding off edges or smoothing imperfections

Work + save money. Ill shop about online if its something that's been released for a while. Big exception for me is the new Dark Eldar this winter. I've wanted to rebuild my cabal for a long time and the new models look too good not to to get them.

Well that and only buying stuff when I'm ready to paint it and have no more unpainted stuff in the queue. Always buying big ticket items from discount retailers like dark sphere helps a lot too.
I do the same thing. It also works on Halloween. Fun times.
