actually, i use the generic space marines codex, the original idea was written up as an army list back when i lived in melbourne and went to the games workshop stores.... i know it has probably been asked but is there something or someone(model) i can take that gives me the trait i used to have..... i had a 2 from different boxes under the old codex, one was heed the wisdom of the ancients, which has been replaced with the master of the forge, but what about the others, in particular see but not be seen??? anyone have any ideas?

Nice! What Paints did you use for the Green and Blue? They both look very vivid!

Very bold and original colour scheme here, I like the colour scheme, again I can see why some wouldn't with use of metallics and so on.
I would try to pick out the belt and the bits between the armour (back of knee pad, groin, elbow) with a darker wash or dark colour just to break up the gold a bit more.

Great job on the head shading too. All in all a lot of effort in this colour scheme, keep it up.

How are you going to base them.

When you can't see the drunk guy at a party, you should look for the nearest mirror.

undecided on how to base them as yet. as for th colours of the green and blue, they are paints i bought sone 5 years ago from games workshop..... yep thats right good old enchanted blue and scorpion green. the reds are from the p3 range, i feel the work better, but the highlight has GW firey orange in it. and in my opinion white is white. as for the shaing of the gold it is my next step i intend to do... wash and then hightlight with a gold/platinum colour, followed by just a platinum.

I like it. As others have stated wash and highlight the gold at you will be looking great. Its refreshing to see a SM scheme that isnt a primary color base. Too many red, blue, green, black, etc SM out there.

Though...I am doing my sons SM in red...but thats just because its easy to get tabletop ready. Primer, red base, brighter red top coat, details, polyshades, base, dullcote and done.

Whats my game?
Warmachine (Cygnar)
10/15mm mecha
Song of Blades & Heroes
Blackwater Gulch
X wing
Open to other games too

What about the Highlight Colour(s)?

ok let me tell you the process which i use for the painting..... keep in mind none of this has been done with a small detail brush just very careful habd work so far....

blue is as follows. - regal blue
enchanted blue
enchanted blue with a little white
enchanted blue with more white

green is as follows- dark angels green
1/2 1/2 dark angels green and scorpion green
scorpion green (multi coats)
scorpion green and white.

i dont just mix my highlights or any other colours that i mix on a pallette i dont see the point of trying to make an exact copy of a colour to use a a later date. i keep all my old pots and wash them out and re-use when making mixes.... the other idea i got for my mixes was to buy small containers from the shop.... these are only 35ml (sorry dont know the conversion to oz.) and used as dressing tubs for salads.... this way they are small enough for paint but not too big either.... then you dont have to worry about mixing the same colours all the time.

as for under coat, i dont undercoat in black or white like most people.... the gold that is used here, is a $3.50 spraypack from a discount store...... i figure if i'm going to undercoat i might as well use the main colour for this and paint over the top of it everything else that is a different colour... ie my chaplains are black base coat and techmarine is red base coat..... all the base coats are done with enamel (yes i know harder to get off plastic figures) will post a pic of the undercoat of the tech as it is a gloss red (another time)... when painting over the enamels just make sure you keep painting so the acrylic doesn't shrink and pool with the emamel under it...

as for other ideas, if you find a colour you like or find an efect paint you like (i.e. i'm thinking of doing a heat treated paint base coat on my next project that changes colour when it heats up, go to a paint shop and they can help you get it, make it there for you in a handy spray pack.
