No where in ANY fluff have I seen this. I have however seen multiple references to SM respecting the Cadians for their discipline and ability to hold the line.
Repeat, 8 foot tall dude with 3 lungs, 2 hearts, solid rib cage, can spit acid and chew through metal bars.
You'd need a friggin depleted uranium round just to punch through ceramite, let alone actually do enough damage to kill a marine.

I have to say I agree, but where then is the incentive for frank to fight fair? Sure he has his own code, but if he thinks you're guilty then he will take you down any way he can. No rules, no honour, no duelling at dawn. Just death by any means.

I failed to mention that, yes, and simply did not want to repeat myself. Of cource Ibram and Schaeffer would win, when they got Ghosts and Last Chancers on their backs. Cain is simply nuts, freaking bada**, but of course he has Guard with him all the time. Edit: My point was you can't compare Frank to these 41st Millennium bada**es, cause their weapons are far superior, they have back up, and lastly, they have decades more experience. Did I say Ultramarines? Did I say the Codex Astartes? Did I say Roboute Guiliman? No. Ok, RIP thread.

Maybe if the punisher had access to 40k era weaponry and equipment he would probably be able to take a few marines on.
If he only had access to modern era weaponry, then he probably won't have a chance in hell. Hell, even a .50 BMG isn't going to penetrate SM armor reliably. He would need a portable anti-tank weapon (SMAW or Javelin or something) but even that is questionable.

Umm, I don't recall Ciaphas Cain killing ANY space marines. Only one I can recall off the top of my head is Eisenhorn lopping off Mandragore Carrion's head, but he was an idiotically powerful psyker with a force sword and crafty tactics only an Inquisitor can bring to bear.
Unless of course the "Cain" reference is about Jurgen vaporizing stuff with a meltagun, but c'mon....its an anti-tank weapon. Thats the firepower it takes for an "everyman" to kill a muhreen.

i remind Ibram Gaunt Killing CSM with a power sword, few in few books, and in very awesome ways....not to mention a Chaos dreadnought. Cain is a SOOOFT version of Gaunt
back to the OP. Well some argue the superhuman state of the SM, some argue the ruthlessness of Frank, but seriously in a close combat, the SM has the winning option....

Wow man, thats so wrong, its impressive. Every Ork mob has a power klaw now? Well that must mean the punisher has one too!
Gaunt, Schaeffer, and Cain ALL have freaking good gear, whether that be a power sword, plasma pistol, or even just a bolt pistol. In franks eyes, these weapons are super weapons.
You put a space marine in a circular arena, and you put frankie at the other end, both with their standard equipment (we will be generous and give frank an m4) Franks dead.
We put them in the same arena with nothing but their bare hands, space marine SUPER wins.

Space Marine > Mostly anythign from comics other than Silver Surfer, Apocalypse, Dr Doom, Mr Sinister, Galactus, Phoenix/Dark Phoenix and MAYBE Juggernaut.
I think 2 space marines would kick the stew out of the entire Xmen squad even with Professor X attempting to scramble their minds. These guys fight friggin demonic gods. Not to mention that they cleanse mutants as a hobby.

I was referring to Yarrick's gear not being rare. He has a regular power klaw, like every ork mob.
Jaon wrote:Gaunt, Schaeffer, and Cain ALL have freaking good gear, whether that be a power sword, plasma pistol, or even just a bolt pistol. In franks eyes, these weapons are super weapons.
Again, irrelevant. Their gear is standard issue for their positions, and they still smear Space Marines across the tarmac by themselves. If they have guardsmen supporting them, they can and have taken down multiple Space Marines at a time.
Jaon wrote:You put a space marine in a circular arena, and you put frankie at the other end, both with their standard equipment (we will be generous and give frank an m4) Franks dead.
The Punisher shoots the Space Marine through the eye socket. End of match.
Jaon wrote:We put them in the same arena with nothing but their bare hands, space marine SUPER wins.
I'll give you this, because the Punisher has no ranged attack and the Space Marine could kite him around spitting acid from beyond the Punisher's reach.

Once again, you cannot compare all the Imperial Guard characters you mentioned to the Punisher. See post above. Can somebody call Melissia? They already settled that argument over the eye-lenses in one of the other threads.

Cain does take a Khorne zerker or two down with his chainsword. And that meltagun may be a dus ex machina, but it's still a meltagun.
