Here's a quick update for everyone! The guys from Battle for Salvation will be holding a Qualifier for the Grim Open! Here's the details! -- Dave

"Battle for Salvation will be holding there 1 day, 3 round rtt on May 21st in White Plains NY. We will be using NOVA scenarios so it should be a good primer for the Grimm GT and other NOVA style Tournaments.

We will be offering up a Ticket to the Grimm GT as part of the prize package.

We are going to do a registration through the BFS GT site http://www.battleforsalvation.com/ once we get it setup.
For now email Bobby at battleforsalvationtourney@yahoo.com . Specify you are interested in going to the May 21st RTT.

We are going to open up to 30 people due to limited space. We usually fill up pretty fast on this one so i suggest getting in touch with Bob ASAP.

Further Details to be posted soon.

*Also please Pre-register for the BFS GW Grand Tournament that will be held on Columbus day weekend Oct 8th-9th Last year we filled up the 48 slots. This year we would like to expand on that. battleforsalvationtourney@yahoo.com

Hi all! Another update for the Grim Open!

Congratulations to Nick Nanavanti for coming in first and winning the Battle For Salvation Qualifier!

Army lists are due 6/15/2011. If you are signed up, submit your list!

The hotel deal has ended, however, if you haven't gotten your room yet, there are still rooms availble at their normal rate.

We have updated the player packet and posted a revised version of our presentation scoring guidelines. You can find them here: The Grim Open!

There are still plenty of spots availble, sign up soon before its too late!

Try BrGrimGT@gmail.com. That is their GT specific e-mail address.

They just devoured the nearby comic book shop a few months back, so it is about 30% bigger or so.

A local Taco Bell/Pizza Hut nearby for quick food. A few other local places as well that are good eatz.

There is local Stony Brook University with the Science Fiction Forum, one of the largest Sci-Fi libraries around.

And the Warstore is about an hour away if your interested in going to see it (go Friday or Saturday as they are closed Sunday).

Now that the lists are submitted, anyone want to make predictions about what the army breakdown is?

I'm guessing unusually high numbers of DE and GK players.

Also, I know there will be at least one ferocious Necron player... Spoiler alert - It isn't me

It will probably have a predominately Space Marine and varient heavy scene. There are a few DE and Xenos players.

yermom- I will like to see a match between us, especially to see where I am in my development as a WH40k player.

Don't forget that Friday is Early Registration and Open Gaming Night.

Saturday and Sunday are the two event days.

War One depending on what time my friends and I drive up we could try to arrange a game Friday night.

I'll be making an appearance with my Imperial Guard the Asgard 501st. Battle Reports will be up time permitting as always. Should have pictures in my Gallery of most of the armies as well.

Would be nice to meet some fellow dakka people. Should be pretty easy to recognizeme by my army as I have lots of pics in my gallery but I'm the Asian guy with the jrock tshirt.

@WarOne

is there a reason why you keep piggybacking info about the warstore in a thread regarding another gaming stores event ? I would think the guys and gals hosting a tournament at there store would prefer people to shop there ? Is the warstore a sponsor of the Grim event ? because if they are i dont see them listed on grimms site.

Also want to wish the Grim guys lots of luck with the tournament. Unfortunalty due to fathers day obligations i wont be able to attend. However there will be plenty of BFS guys there to represent.

Offering info on local entertainment and food locations is one thing, competing retail stores is another. I guess a 1 time advert is harmless but a number of mentions including directions and pictures of there store seems to me a little beyond the simple "letting people know" sort of thing.

Call me nuts but i wonder how much the owners of the Grimm store would appreciate someone using a thread about there event to pimp another store "multiple" times.

You have a valid point.

I bet they wouldn't like it.

I'm going to redact most of my second post for that. And third post as well.

Go get them at the Grim Open zed!
