My friend and I just went down this road with a Tau titan he had built, he had used army builder to figure out the point cost of everyhting in they're build table...he had all this wild stuff hanging off it...all kinds of seekers ...marker lights and whatnot..at first I was like no way...too
ott, and that was the weapons..the problem was he was basing it off the
IA warhound. On top of all the
WH rules he tacked on all this other gak that just didn't add up point wise or fluff wise..so back to the drawing board he went and came up with the
AB version pointed out 100 below my warhound but with a few more bells and whistles. We did a test game and it turned out to not be
op at all..in fact I found it kind of weak in armour and sp..but he countered that he was trying to to follow tau in general with gakky armour..a point did come up whereas he asked what he needed to repair a sp...I told him he can't..he was not using
wh rules anymore and insofar as I can tell they are the only ones that can repair, not including the eldar ignore rule.
sorry for the wall of text but my long winded poitn is that in order to get people to accept your build and actually let you play it you need to stay within the constaints of your army....using lifta-droppa rules for necron doesn't fit for me..nothing they have lets them teleport other models only they're own..I would adjust it to affect your models with a
d6 scatter and no chance of mishap..say a 10" radius grabs all your models and puts em somewhere up to
3d6 away..imagine how that will screw people up..more than losing a tank
Apoc builds are alot of fun, but of course you need your opponents permission to use it..better to design something you made that you can use and see on the board than sitting on a shelf .
Just my humble opinion and I love your idea and model. "
